Ya, even without your opinion (uppercut to death) or mine (wilder ktfo!) Fury was the underdog. You coulda won well by betting on him. It's 4 fights he's been dog and he hasn't lost 1 of them, and he's won every fight he was favoured for. I mean, I'm not saying he's GOAT or anything, but if anything that's more so an under estimated fighter than an overrated one

That's fine. Who says he's over rated? Jury is still out in my opinion. Although some on here are certainly overrating Fury. Certainly he is the best of the current crop as of this post.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 19:21 Ya, even without your opinion (uppercut to death) or mine (wilder ktfo!) lol dudes going on about people being caught up in some Fury fevor, having him totally out of place by discussing him with greats, etc....I don't agree and he's been underrated for years if anything---all the way to 2020 baby
Like I said, I still expect lots of dudes to talk themselves into him losing the 3rd fight by the time it comes. He beat Wlad in a staring contest! wILDer won't stare at him

I see both sides represented here pretty equally. It ain't one sided. Duke is in love with TGK and Alp won't have him beating Braddock.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 19:30 lol dudes going on about people being caught up in some Fury fevor, having him totally out of place by discussing him with greats, etc....I don't agree and he's been underrated for years if anything---all the way to 2020 baby

cool, you only seem to comment on one of them though
Re: Muhammad Ali (1967) vs. current HWs ?
I respond to posts. I made my opinion when we were still on the thread topic as well. Saying that Fury's place on the all time list is better served when his career is over seems pretty fair.
Re: Muhammad Ali (1967) vs. current HWs ?
NOTE: Didn't remember Fury being an underdog vs Chis in the first fight. Looked it up. Margie was right, although just barely. 1.05/1.00 betting underdog.

I tell the whole truth, and nothing but sir
Fury gave Chis an inside beating that fight, looked on verge of stopping him late

So do you think Fury beats Ali?margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 19:43 I tell the whole truth, and nothing but sir

Also the Wilder rematch was even come fight time..hardly odds where you would've won well.

Nah, but it's not some untouchable shutout schooling either, like I said people always go too extreme for hypos. I think Fury would be successful across all eras, and yes, that includes beating slick, slippery Cleveland Williams

Nah,, Wilder was the favourite, there was lots of time to get on Fury as underdog and make good profit. Guys reaching, just stawp, Fury was underdog 4 times, including both Wilder fights. dudes, including us my boi dury, underestimated him and picked against him. Wilder's winning a decision? Lol he couldnt win a round vs tGK
A guy being dog at all is great odds when he proves to be so much better

I take those comments as folks stressing a point and not to be taken literally.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 19:47 Nah, but it's not some untouchable shutout schooling either, like I said people always go too extreme for hypos. Bowman's had the fight even..
And 1.05 to 1 vs Chisora?
What a shocking upset.

Fury was dog at all the major books, the odds were all out there and you can still find them. There was tons of time to get Fury as dog all the way to fight day
Yep, so that makes Fury the underdog vs Chisora, just like I said
of course he beat the poo out of him and proved to be way better than a guy favoured to beat him
People like me and you underestimated Fury, my boi D. You can't lose a decision if you win every round!

Ya, saying someone was an underdog when they were an underdog is really controversial

Fury has a great skillset. When doing these mythical fights i assume the guy at his best. So fury from wilder2 not fury vs wallin
Hes a handful for anyone. Not unbeatable but top notch for aure

Does that style Fury used on Wilder in the rematch work effectively on a better skilled heavyweight?Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 22:01 Fury has a great skillset. When doing these mythical fights i assume the guy at his best. So fury from wilder2 not fury vs wallin

He can fight many styles. Meant it more that he was fighting at a peak that night.oogiebe wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 22:17Does that style Fury used on Wilder in the rematch work effectively on a better skilled heavyweight?Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 22:01 Fury has a great skillset. Id pick peak ali to beat him if my life were depending on it
Re: Muhammad Ali (1967) vs. current HWs ?
Liston was surprised at how tall Clay (as he was known then) was when they faced up in the ring. Sonny had an apelike reach but Cassius used his height better than Sonny used his reach. As for Ali in the 1970s? Foreman fought like Liston and was taller but could not match Ali.
