In a perfect world, that would be true, but it is not that way in the real world.

The Lezzers love sport.Delta Jay wrote: ↑12 Jul 2020, 04:00Me too. I was doing a Stuart before making disgusting jokes but if it’s not too much I’d like to agree with you.
Boxing does a great job of breaking down racial barriers but in terms of gay men it does a bad job. Lots of lesbians at the top level, as it is with a lot of sports, but it’d be good for boxing to have an out and out world champ. That’s not to conflate homosexuality with fishnets and brasses.
Only two I can think of are Orlando Cruz (who came out and grabbed some headlines before getting bladdered by Salido) and Emile Griffith, and that’s a whole story on its own.

It was appalling! A really hard watch. WK was so much better against Joshua.Delta Jay wrote: ↑02 Jul 2020, 05:15A year or so ago I got fed up with the lies about that fight and had to go and make sure I wasn’t misremembering. I don’t know why on earth I did, but I watched it again. 115-113 is fair I think and 116-112 would be ok. Someone on this forum always posts that after the final bell, Wlad was favourite on in-play betting.
It was dire though, I think Martin vs Glazkov was worse but it’s bottom 3. They put it on the Sly Sports YouTube channel during lockdown next to Inoue Donaire and Froch Groves for fornicate sake

Re: Boxing myths
Orlando Cruz got some mad abuse, one guy on esb was so glad he was getting hammered by Salido it was a bit suspicious, it didn't take too much probing ,(oi oi) to get him to admit he was glad the fag got bashed, yeah so what
Re: Boxing myths
Personally I only have to spend a few seconds thinking about Gatti’s contribution to boxing, to feel not the slightest sense of injustice that he was inducted.
But then to be fair I’m not massively au fait on what the exact criteria is.
Re: Boxing myths
When I lived in NYC in the late 00's I became reasonably friendly with Joey Gamache. What Gatti (or his team) did was criminally negligent.
For that reason, I wouldn't put AG in the HoF.

It was a rough (and unfair) night for Gamache to put it mildly. But still, a bloody lovey finishing combo from Arturo.

Re: Boxing myths
Not sure I agree. Gatti and his team were morally wrong but was it not the NYSAC that were negligent? They were responsible for conducting the weigh in. They should have made Gatti get back on the scales and actually weigh in properly.

Re: Boxing myths
Gatti didn't weigh in properly. He got on the scale but it never settled. Nobody thinks he made weight. If he was a couple of pounds over at weigh in, which he could well have been, he will have been so much stronger on fight night than if he'd cut all the weight. He entered the ring at about 160lbs. Gamache 143lbs.
