I need somebody who sells the current Japanese fights. Has to be recorded from TV, not from an online broadcast.

The thing about original recordings are they are full of interviews, build up and all the other titbits you don’t get on YouTube, even the ad breaks give you a sense of the era

Yeah, the full broadcast is always interesting. I have a Japanese TV fight in my collection, commercials and all that I really enjoy watching from time to time just because it's unique to see and have.

Are there any boxing dvd sellers around these days?

A lot of the threads I found when searching were from around 10 years ago so not sure who is still active. I am looking for 80s, 90s stuff. I am a member of those torrent sites, but they are mainly good for recent fights.

Anyone still purchase boxing dvds? Any recommended sellers?

it is crazy having likes of youtubes and dailymotions and what ever to watch fights , i mean i am mid 30s and as a kid you only had what was the programe ko tv or something on chanel 4 in the 90s think it is still going on a thursday 3 am, if you wanted to hear about american fights ,other videos cant remember now they alaways had rocky marciano liston clay

I'm a bit older and in the early days of sattelite you had quite a lot of boxing : screensport, eurosport sky....all used to show good stuff...and BBC and itv too

Yes these, I remember every week around 7am I'd watch Tommy Morrison or Ray Mercer latest fights that were shown delayed on screensport. It was so exciting cos you didn't known the result either ...

ha ha screensport was that eurosport, its funny you say that about the results in this day an age now it is so hard not to hear the results, i remeber a fight in america i advoid the results went on a local london news site bang right there grrrrr

When i first started to watch boxing I had to wait to get boxing news for the result,so if a fight was on Saturday night,i'd have to wait until the follwing Friday afternoon to see who won,sometimes the delivery was late and i would have to wait until the next week

I used to order from a SP Baldry as advertised in BM. Amazing now when you think about it. Used to love getting those tapes through.

I think by the time it was DVD I'd already stopped.

Steven (or Stuart, can't quite remember) was great. i got tons of rare stuff off him. He once told me he had contacts from all over the world and any fight that was televised anywhere in the globe he could get hold of.

I requested loads of exotic stuff and he never let me down - just once I wanted him to fall on his arse but it never happened. That was all on VHS of course, some years later moved into a pokey flat with no space to store them and had to let them all go. Regret it now of course.
