Yep, I had Bugner versus Welch too, because I taped it live on the abysmal Bruno/Tyson 2 PPV.

One of the most depressing things about watching fights on Youtube is how shocking the picture quality often is, knowing that I taped them all, on expensive kit, and had them mint quality. Even famous stuff like Lewis/Ruddock is awful on Youtube. If I had kept my tapes I could upload a perfect version in a few minutes!

One of the most depressing things about watching fights on Youtube is how shocking the picture quality often is, knowing that I taped them all, on expensive kit, and had them mint quality. Even famous stuff like Lewis/Ruddock is awful on Youtube. If I had kept my tapes I could upload a perfect version in a few minutes!

Totally agree. All my fights from the 70s to 90s were on VHS, put up in the attic going mouldy. I never knew in the 80s that there would be internet and YouTube that people would want to watch them.

On a side note, I've given many boxers their fights back as they hadn't taped them in the 80s etc. I for 1 do not sell anyone's fights I don't find it's the right thing to do sell a boxer his fights back, totally unethical imo.

I remember a few years ago a South African boxer was searching for his one and only televised undercard fight. Someone asked me to help and I had it. This guy had been searching for many years for the fight without any luck and was well over the moon when I sent it to him.

Only a few months ago John Davison's son messaged me asking if I had a fight of his dad that they were looking for and I did. Was an old fight from the 80s on Fight night.

It's just a shame that some companies are vindictive enough to get channels closed on YouTube. I had 3 strikes in quick succession so mine was closed. I would have thought the company whom I'd never heard of watched my channel and waited for 3 of their copyrighted videos came up and did the 3 reports in quick fashion purely to get the channel removed. We are not even talking pvv fights or recent boxing action. One was on old non title Tony Tubbs fight from 1997. So we are talking major fights.

I've since tried to contact the company but no joy.

I don't think I've got the energy to sit at my pc again and waste my time and life uploading for fans to see.

I have around 5000 myself and had/have access to a former Sky Sports Whip collection of very many thousands of fights. And if Eric decided to climb on board and add fights for free I'm guessing we would have the biggest collection in the UK if not the world.

Youtube are total douches, they make it way too easy for people to strike channels down. I have a mate who puts out totally original content and he actually got taken down for a while cause some guy who was ripping his videos and then reposting them actually did a strike on him! they have an awful process for all that

All that youtube stuff,that people put up online belongs to promoters and tv companies, thats why sometimes they get blocked.
I have just done a deal with KOTV, so you can see some fights that were not televised,

I stopped filming just as the lockdown started, but been busy transferring over the VHS tapes to dvds,

Don't waste your time Eric..put them onto a hardrive.....and keep the VHS whatever you do !!

DVDs are really unreliable. VHS by comparison much more durable. Best transferring to a hardrive and skipping DVD altogether, as evren said.

I was watching Floyd Patterson vs Brian London last week on Youtube. The fight had been taped on VHS from that McGuigan classic fights series he did on Sky in the early 90s. It had obviously been transferred to DVD and uploaded to youtube -- and all the problems were due to the disc. Towards the end it started skipping about, freezing -- it actually jumped right past the first KD! So the tape had lasted for decades, the DVD transfer lasted... weeks? Days?

I agree with the consensus. I have 1000s of fights and VHS and i still have them categorized by tape brand. I generally find VHS more reliable than DVD even in the commercial tapes. I have hundreds of DVDS and some skip dont play or are very unreliable for the most part. The VHS for the most part still play pretty well and many are nearly 30 years of age. I have a few that are defective. The DVD sellers are rare today. The You tube and computer generation besides many people do not have DVD recorders.

You tube allow anything until the right holder makes a complaint. The company who closed me down waited until I had 3 fights of their copyright. One was a Tony Tubbs fight from around 1997 so it wasnt anything worth of note, also a Tyrone Trice fight again of no significance and the 3rd a Vinny Pazienza non title fight. The company is https://www.csisports.tv/ ive tried contacting them but get no help at all. Youtube close you down after 3 strikes. CSI did 3 quick complaints and i was gone within a day.

That's awful..and they are obviously exploiting that ruling. Have you tried reporting to YouTube....??
