romanov vs mcdonagh

Post by jamie wadman »

peter mcdonagh is fighting yuri romanov on the undercard to graham earl on july 14th, i think this will be a good fight and its the perfect chance for peter to really prove to people what a good boxer he is.

I'd like to think so, but he was on poor form against Earl!!!!

He should have murdered Earl, but looked poop.

If Romanov looks good, I'd like to see a rematch with Earl.

Earl v Romanov kinda reminded me of Barrera v Juarez

You've a workrate orientated guy against a classy guy who can only fight in short bursts. When both Barrera and Romanov decided to turn on the class, the difference in ability was plain to see!! However for reasons of Age, and innactivity (respectivly) neither boxer could keep it up.

Romanov had a long lay off before that fight though didn't he? Even then I scored the fight a draw myself. He should still be more than a match for McDonagh though.

I'm a big fan of Romanov, and I mentioned his lay off in the previous thread. My point is if he has honestly put the work in and got back to his best, then NO BRITISH Lightweight will live with him. If he hasn't and he's just here for another payday......

I really hope he gets his act together as he's a class act, but I fear injury, and his celebrity status backhome may have spoiled him.

Come on Yuri!!!!!

depends which Romanov shows up. If he's back to form, and he's got his game head on. Bye bye Peter.

And to be fair for people to rate him, he should have won more fights than he's lost.

Earls pace gave Yuri problems, I had them pretty close and preffered Ramanovs work scoring it 7-5 to him. Remember Ramanov is a beast of puncher if you don't push him back.

Think Ramanov will be too much for McDonagh. He showed that when even out of sorts he is in the same bracket as Graham Earl... whose is a level up from McDonagh.

Hope I'll get proven wrong.

Sorry , but even a Romanov at 70% of his best will be to much for Peter.
I think Peter will be there at the end to lose on points after a as always good effort.

Romanov will be looking to put the below par showing against Earl behind him.

I don't doubt that, Peter has always given value for money, he looks as if he's improving, and the Gomez fight must have given him more confidence. but i still can't pick him to win though.

Indeed, I just hope Romanov finds form again. He should then get a rematch with Earl and teach him a lesson!!
