Amy Timlin and Carly Skelly will contest the vacant Commonwealth Super-Bantamweight title live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN, Saturday 31st October.

The unbeaten pair were scheduled to fight earlier this month but now find themselves on the undercard to Oleksandr Usyk’s monster fight against Derek Chisora.

Rising star Timlin (4-0) is tipped for a bright future, training under the tutelage of Kieran Farrell and managed by Dave Coldwell.

“I’m buzzing for this. I’ve been training throughout lockdown, and I’m ready to go. This fight will push me on; it’s all about learning. The pressure is on her, Carly will come out all guns blazing, but we’ve got a steady game plan. I can’t wait for the first bell; this platform is huge,” revealed Timlin.

“I’m really excited to have Amy on such a massive show like this. Thanks to Eddie for giving us a slot in these testing times. Amy is a fantastic fighter, at 20 years old, I think she’ll show people in the next year or two she is the next generation of flag bearers coming through in Women’s boxing,” said Coldwell.

Southpaw Scouser Skelly (3-0) splits her time working in Children’s nursing, training out of the North Mersey ABC gym, and raising her two young children.

“It’s been a long camp having to juggle things about, but I’ve had some time off recently to concentrate on the fight,” said Skelly. “It’s a massive risk for Amy to take at her age; she won’t have felt power like this from a more mature fighter. This fight opens doors; I believe in myself and want to reach the World level.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn added: “We’ve seen some amazing domestic fights recently in women’s boxing, and this is another cracker. Two unbeaten fighters gunning for a World Title, the winner here will put themselves into contention for just that in 2021.”

Timlin vs. Skelly joins McCarthy vs. Laggoune and Selby vs. Kambosos Jr on the Usyk-Chisora undercard with more additions to be confirmed shortly.

Luis Ortiz received a lot of praise from his obscenely loyal fans (that frequent this forum) for facing Hammer, but if Dave Allen beats him, the very same people will choose to remain silent.

Size, Chisora has enough weight and boxing savvy to make it competitive in a one off.
Is he up for 12 rounds at a pace ?

I think Chisora's weight is a negative.

He's always carried too much weight, but against a mover like Usyk that excess weight will make him a sitting duck.

Possible.
Yet last time I saw Usyk 215 was against a 242 Witherspoon and it seemed to me that at one point Usyk's punches weren't putting as much of a dent in Witherspoon as I would have thought.

I don’t rate Usyk anywhere near as high as most but I think Chisora’s style is tailor made for the Ukrainian and he’ll take it rather comfortably.

box and move, a good few guys, even kaybyel (usually a come forward attacker) beat him doing that, Pulev beat him comfortably jabbing and moving, Fury did it easy the second time. basically when people talk about unmotivated chisora, they really mean fights where he fought guys who boxed him and didnt let him fight his fight

obviously not someone who is exactly the same as usyk though

Usyk, besides his chazz fight, is predominantly a volume puncher. Agree it doesn't bode well for Derek.

he uses a box and move style a lot, he is versatile an can box different ways

and of course his hw fight with witherspoon, which might be the most reflectve of the approach he will take vs heavier guys.

He's fought a number of guys who box him, keep the jab busy, move, and don't stand on spot trading with him, that's what Usyk will do and Ussy has used that style plenty. Given the type of fighter Chis is and how Usyk boxed vs Witherspoon and vs bigger guys in WSB, no doubt to me Usyk will take that approach here

I expect usyk to do exactly what you do. I just don't see the blueprint for it being chisora's kryptonite.

Ah okay. To me it's pretty obvious that's what he struggles with when you look at his performances, even Kaybayel turned into a boxer and beat him that way

Didn't watch that one. His biggest problem here, and most losses, is talent.

Agree, lacks the talent to be competitive with top end boxers and movers, and even cant handle agit kabayels boxing

Stand toe to toe with him and he'll be able to trade on even terms or better with most guys though

He could never win a round against Byrd.

I see little point in Dereck shedding weight for this fight. He's never going to compete with Usyk in terms of speed and mobility, his only advantages are size, strength and power. Unless Usyk has started to decline, Delboy is likely to be chasing shadows. He will make sure Usyk knows he's been in a fight though.

Anyone with a similar style to Usyk, Chisora will lose against. Even a boxer with half of what Usyk has, beats Chisora.

Bellew is backing his buddy in whatever way he can.

I still want to see Parker vs. Chisora

Might still be an option after this fight. Chisora never seems to lose any credibility even when he's beaten.
