That hotel must have been filled to the brim with cotton socks.

it shows you just how hard the McGuigan family were working on Frampton's behalf matemaverick23 wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 08:13 41 hotel rooms?! The mind boogles - what a waste of money! Surely there are only a handful of people (a dozen at most including close family) that would warrant hotel rooms.

the hallmark of pure graft mate, cotton socks littering the hallways
which was lucky for Frampton's sparring partner who got turfed out of his room onto the corridor, he made himself a makeshift camp bed and blankets from all the discarded socks.

Over 40 hotel rooms ffs. Probably the presidential suite as well. Meanwhile the sparring partner is kipping in the hallway
you couldn’t make it up.

Tbh I found McGuigan being party to a sparring partner being treated like trash to be particularly damning.

Re: Cyclone / Frampton Court Case
well at least the corridor-bound sparring partner could have got a bit of brekkie out of it, he was fvcked after he'd been turfed out of his room

A sparring partner had to sleep on the floor in a hall way to make room for members of the McGuigan family when they arrived stateside it was alleged. McGuigan didn’t deny that was the case but suggested it wasn’t an uncommon occurance.Wee Tommy wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 10:33Counter-puncher wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 09:03the hallmark of pure graft mate, cotton socks littering the hallways

I imagine sparring partners will be booking their own rooms from now on then. mind you, sounds like they're all used to being turfed out into the corridor, according to Bazza

So do I. how the fornicate can a former fighter treat another fighter like that?Wee Tommy wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 10:33Counter-puncher wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 09:03the hallmark of pure graft mate, cotton socks littering the hallways

Re: Cyclone / Frampton Court Case
I think with Bazza he’s not just any former fighter but a former world champion. He treats those he deems beneath him as scum. I’ve never met him but I used to be a big fan. Whenever I’ve mentioned him to anyone whose met him or dealt with him, he gets bad press.Muttley wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 11:32So do I. how the fornicate can a former fighter treat another fighter like that?Wee Tommy wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 10:33Counter-puncher wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 09:03

Honestly it’s a shite game the boxing mate. Hard on its participants.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 10:36A sparring partner had to sleep on the floor in a hall way to make room for members of the McGuigan family when they arrived stateside it was alleged. My mates unbeaten as a pro and was fairly touted as an amateur and he hates the game. The stuff he’s told me would make u sick.

In business, you are completely alone, and professional boxing more than any other sport forces its participants to be businessmen.Wee Tommy wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 11:40Honestly it’s a shite game the boxing mate. If this allegation is true, it makes Bazza's efforts towards establishing a fighter's union all those years ago seem particularly cynical.

Re: Cyclone / Frampton Court Case
If so he should consider himself lucky. They meant a lot to Bazza and his family.
Re: Cyclone / Frampton Court Case
I know of one sparring partner who travelled down to London and they had a whip around and gave him £20 for the spar
Re: Cyclone / Frampton Court Case
Sounds odd but surely the hotel thing was the eve before/after the fight - Why on earth would you have sparring partners on hand then? It must have been a thank-you (as back-handed as it was)? Turfing him out the ultimate F-you.
Re: Cyclone / Frampton Court Case
He must have been in the corridor in a house. It wouldn’t work in a hotel like.

Depends who’s asking you to spar I guess..

I haven't been following it too closely, to be honest - will wait for the written judgment. Sorry that that's not very helpful!
