Me too,1st one mosley was crisp and sharp, way too quick for de la hoya but 2nd oscar turned it round but the judges where friends with Terry O'Connor
I thought Mosley deserved the rematch personally, but it was definitely WAY more competitive and debatable than the 1st bout.

Ironically the 2nd one was a Unanimous Decision for Mosley while the 1st was a Split.

Sometimes Boxing just don't make no kinda sense. Because even though I thought Mosley won, that was definitely a Split Decision kinda bout if I ever saw one.
Ye it doesnt sometimes, just shows how corrupt the sport is tbh, like teddy atlas says how can the promotor and manager of a show take all the officials out for dinner the night before the fight? It doesnt happen in football or NHL or NFL or MLB but it does in one of the most dangerous sports on teh planet where fighters livelihoods depend on getting the decision right, its a farce init, remember Paulie malignaggi rant after the first baby bull fight? He was spot on.

At British/European and fringe level Howard Eastmans worth a shout despite a lot of his losses being late in his career abroad.

He fought some great fighters. Hopkins, Joppy, Athrur Abraham and Edison Miranda when the latter two were at their peak. At middleweight Miranda thumped like a horse kicks.

Was Eastman ever down as a professional before he went to Guyana to box? For some reason I gave him as someone who either wasn’t knocked down or only got knocked down once or twice like Froch and Clinton Woods in the chin department.

Remember him ironing Adam Etches our and once Etches was up and clearly ok he let out this shrill shout to celebrate his win. The crowd booed but I didn’t see many blokes lining up to fornicate with him.

One bloke you just look at and know he’s a proper hard bastard.

I can only remember Scott Dann should have been credited a KD in the first round of their fight (caught Eastman with a southpaw left coming in). Otherwise he was pretty bulletproof.

Who was that British guy nicknamed "The Upsetter" he had some notable wins, and had well over 10 losses.

Didn't Johnny Nelson lose more than 10 fights? I don't recall if he had any fights after 2000 or not though.

I think he had 10 losses and was 40 when he fought Blackwell, who in hindsight did well to draw against him. Blackwell was good, I just think Eubank was all wrong for him.

Great thread idea!

My first thoughts were Gabe Rosado and Pacquiao. Rosado was right but PAC is somehow on 7 Ls, it really feels like more.

I can’t add any more than the great lists and answers already in here, but any thread were people start talking about Jhonny is a good thread.

I think though if we are meaning at the time of their retirement then Nelson is a great shout...arguably the number 1 fighter in the division....alot of the fighters being mentioned were greats / all time greats but by the time of their 10th defeat were shot to bits

Yes. I'm sure he was down against Abraham and/or Miranda. I used to have all of his (Eastmans) fights. I recall him moaning to the ref and looking shocked.

I haven't been on this forum for about 10 years, there used to be some dude from Germany (Hellephant) on here that loved Eastman.

Against Dann, he just got caught at the end of the 1st round from a little hook to the chin, he didn't hit the canvas, but held onto Scott..

There’s a big difference between elevate fighters who went on too long and tarnished their records, like Mosley, and guys who had to come up without a promoter and a TV deal pushing them to the moon.

Gotta be Orlando Salido off the top of my head. Proper hard man and good fighter.

Johnny Nelson
Tom Johnson

But closer to the Chisora mold I always liked some of the older patchy half and half record Heavyweights who fought everyone and would spring an upset when in the mood. Mainly 90’s though.

Definitely not the best but Carlos Molina fits the criteria (In the Chisora mould).

Former world champion with 12 defeats and never been stopped.

Watched it back and sorry, you're quite right. Thought his glove touched the canvas, but that actually was earlier in the round on a slip.
