Yes, Chisora was pushing and going forward the whole fight but then so was GGG against Canelo (1) and landing an awful lot more than Chisora did last night.

Boxing seems to be judged entirely according to the whim of each individual judge. Or worse.

Maybe it's time judges were trained for consistency. It would be easy enough to show them historic fights and ask them to score each round until some form of consistency was reached. Outliers could be barred from employment as they would in most other jobs.

Can you imagine some of these clowns working in vehicle inspection? Or aviation?

Anyway, that was a fantastic performance by the 37 year old against the 33 year old. Chisora is the current gatekeeper at HW (along with Ortiz), and Usyk got past him without too much drama.

Right now Usyk has enough of everything to worry anyone at heavyweight.

I can't say I'm a big fan of his matador style but then again I can't see anyone beating him on points either.

So Usyk will probably become the champion pretty soon, or get knocked out trying.

Becoming a judge

To become a Grade C Judge, you must sit a written paper which are set and marked by Regional Assessors.

If you are successful in passing this element, you will then be asked to sit ringside and judge at least 10 bouts (your scores will not be used in the decision of the bout, but are compared to the scores with the other judges).

Once the assessor passes you on your practical, a copy of the top copy of the Grade C written paper is returned to the Secretary of the Technical Rules and R&J’s Sub-committee and a certificate will be issued.

Upon receiving your certificate, you are then qualified to be used as a judge on club shows only once your registration with England Boxing has been completed and you are in possession of your ID Card and Officials Record and Registration Book.

Come forward rough style does not suit Usyk, ive noticed that when he was in amateurs. Chisora won at least 4 rounds in this, Usyk had his hands full.

He won at least 2 rounds, didnt see him take anything else clear, thought he was handily outboxed tbh and had little to offer after the first couple

when i see ppl give him 5 rounds i'm wondering if they scored sitting next to bellew and hearn

I don't think usyk becomes a heavyweight champion unless the belts get split 4 ways and he can get an easy touch. Big guys will walk through him. Fury would fukin throw him round the ring also aj, wilder and maybe even someone like whyte. He's not big enough or strong enough and his punches won't keep the top guys off him. Great boxer but unfortunately I don't think he's doing anything heavyweight.

I also think he could outbox Wilder, but he literally would have to avoid every power shot Deontay threw.

A Ruiz fight would definitely be interesting.

If Ruiz bothered to stop eating and trained properly, I think that would be a hard fight to call.

I also think Joseph Parker would be another potential good fight; similarly sized with great handspeed and technical skills, but will dig in and fight if he has to; another tough one to call.

A good win not an impressive performance for Usyk tonight.
I'm not sure I would call his lateral movement excessive but he was definitely on the edge of good ring movement and outright running which probably explains the two close scorecards.
How big was that ring?
On DAZN it looked huge, after tonight I don't expect any top heavies will agree to fighting Usyk in a spacious ring.

Yeah in NFL the field is pretty well locked down in size, basketball too, to the hair-width! Negotiating the ring is like negotiating how far the 3-point line will be, game to game.
