Re: The most frequent robbery victims
I guess this goes to show how subjective all this is and at the same time, it makes for more interesting discussions. I genuinely think these were all robberies. Admittedly, it’s been awhile since I watched them, but to my eye, Patterson clearly won the Quarry fights and the Ellis match.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑09 Nov 2020, 11:37Patterson was robbed against Maxim. The Quarry and the Ellis fights were not robberies. They were close fights in which he didn't get the decision.
You won’t see me getting worked up about it though, because I know of some fights where I totally disagree with the consensus. For instance, most folks think the Holmes-Spinks matches were close. I think Spinks won the first clearly and obviously lost the second. When I watched Barry McGuigan-Eusebio Pedroza, I thought the latter did way better than anyone else perceived. It still astounds me that anyone thinks Hagler beats Leonard.
What the hell, though. It’s more interesting when we disagree. I’ve adjusted my view more than once based on what someone posted on these boards.
Here in the states it looks like we’ll be going into quarantine again. Maybe this time I’ll get to sit down and re-watch some of these fights.
