And let’s not forget that Yarde has never beaten any top-ten rated UK or European opponent.

And Yarde’s only victories within the last 21 months came against two opponents that had failed to win a combined total of 55 from their 75 bouts.

You can forgive a guy for having a blinkered view in the immediate aftermath of an unexpected defeat especially if he’s surrounded by sycophants.

It's fine losing to Kovalev who was once a formidable champion, but Yarde has just had a sobering reality check on his true standing in the sport...and it doesn't match up with his inflated ego's.

Fact is Yarde would beat the absolute shite out of me but I can't help but thinking he doesn't know what he's doing in there, especially when he is making ineffective posture moves. He's main strength is his fitness and his delusional mindset.

Arthur's post fight interview worth a mention too. He was gracious, said it was close and that he wouldn't have complained if it had gone the other way. When he said that, yarde checked himself for a second before he started whining again. Arthur looks like the worst kind of street thug but he's actually an honourable and modest man. A gent and I hope he gets big fights out of this.

BT Sport cannot possibly pretend Yarde is a world-beater when his record is terrible.

It was a pretty boring fight - whilst Arthur jabbed well he didn’t do anything else and Yarde barely had threw anything outside of a couple of rounds.

Whilst there will almost certainly be more action in a rematch I’m not particularly fussed by it.

Out of all of them, I prefer John but slipping lately for me with the cheerleading. Andy Lee Supurb on gantry, knows his boxing obviously but explains the nuances simply .

I thought Andy Lee and David Haye were good last night. Haye’s comments about Ali shouting before he actually delivers the punch was bang on, as was he was comment about Yarde suffering due to a lack sparring.

Yarde needs something new, he didn't have an established amateur career and blasted his way through most of his early pro fights. He is obviously very athletic and strong and that can get you so far but those quick wins don't teach you much.

Very close, couldn’t argue either way but I’m glad Arthur got it - I thought he just deserved it. Shocking scorecard from IJL to add to the shocking one in Dubois favour last week. Skulllduggery is clearly afoot and we all know what or more accurately who the common denominator is.

Tunde is stealing a living. He can remember all the moves of a primary school girls playground handclap game with Yarde before the bell for round one yet twice he can’t remember to give him his gumshield. I would love to hear Pat Barrett’s opinion of his rival cornerman

If your trainer thinks sparring is not a essential part of your training camp, conditioning and learning exercise on how to solve problems that occur, be able to adjust and navigate difficulties and various styles in preparation for the real fights & thinks choreographing ridiculous & unrealistic pad routines & school girl patty cake hand greetings are more important then I don’t think it should be needed to get to this point to realise “hey maybe I need a boxing coach to teach me about boxing” I mean ffs it’s a joke, and tbh the only reason the fight was even close tonight IMO was because both didn’t do enough, but them 10 jabs per round from Arthur were more than sufficient to give him the win IMO by 116-113, not question of it being any closer again IMO, and IJL the board seriously need to sort this out now and if they don’t then the heads at the top need sacking, and finally all this lions in the camp nonsense is idiotic, there is no lions in that camp, all gassed up egos full of hot air. what is needed in the camp is a boxing coach and second to tell people to shut the fu k up and listen this is what’s needed, you need to do this, he is doing this when you do that so this what you need to do, it’s called instructions, it’s what boxing coaches do, they study the sport and watch intensely for the slightest mistakes of both their own fighters and the opposing fighter to 1: correct their fighters mistakes they are making and help adjust
2: point out, help and explain to their fighters how to exploit their opponents weaknesses and mistakes they are making during the contests
3: and finally and very importantly remember to put their fu king fighters gum shield back in before the start of each round
