It took 7 rounds for them to realise Arthur was fighting with 1 arm and I’ll bet it was because they heard Rawlings mention it  fckin lions? Oh dear....

Did he not consider stepping to his right occasionally to cut the ring off?

Sounds daft but I think a 2 handed Arthur might be an easier fight for Yarde. He’d be more likely to engage in his sort of fight.

Saying that I wouldn’t want to see a rematch.

Firstly Lyndon barely throws any punches but the f ing jab, and even though I like him and that whole camp, I’ve had the misfortune of “watching” his last three fights, where he’s thrown less than 20 punches combined that Wernt jabs, averaging 1 right hand a round lol.

Yarde had no urgency, and should have done what he did in round 12 from the second round, after having a look in the first. He lost the fight because he couldn’t be bothered to effectively get past a low output guy flipping out a jab.

Why would yarde need a trainer in the camp, he has the lions lol

All well and good saying that. He’s probably being told by Tunde that he’s winning....
Yeah he probably thinks he's winning. He never really comes across as the sharpest guy. Choosing to have Tunde in your corner as head trainer doesn't exactly make you the Einstein of boxing.

Both those guys picked up an L yesterday in my eyes, it was a case of won’t fight don’t fight lol. Yarde for me proved he was world class based on his loss to kovalev but looked domestic class against a guy who throws the jab exclusively and is domestic level himself

How can one judge be so different from the other 2, should be made to watch the fight and justify in public how he scored it otherwise he will do it next time as well.

No mate because he doesn’t know how too, and you know why ? Because his team that should work for British Gas with all their hot air and clearly have about as much knowledge on the technical side of boxing and being trainers as a worker for British Gas, Pretend to be the Jesus Christ or the oracle of boxing and the all knowing knowledge, and do not think sparring is essential and isn’t needed, so he has never had to face that or learn to, navigate styles and solve problems etc in sparring & training which is a must, hence he fights exactly with his feet how you do when you do pad work alone, like I said, they think school girl party cake hand shakes and unrealistic, useless pad routines are all you need, when in reality pad work is one of the very least things in a camp you need, and no can say “no you must
Do pads for timing, you just do pads for putting combinations together and working on your game plan” no you fu King do that and achieve that in sparring, doing bag work (correctly working the bag & drills) pads are IMO only good for a bit of a blow out and opening up your lungs with a high work rate, again you achieve better results for both doing sprints and interval work so again IMO pads are one the very least things you need in a camp, it’s a new era thing where it’s all about the trainers doing ridiculous, exaggerated, unrealistic routines for social media and to “look at me” that in reality will and do never work in real time in a fight, that’s just my opinion. Think they must be obsessed with joe exotic (tiger king) with all the absolutely ridiculous “lions in the camp” shouting, well ya need to get out that camp and join a camp where there’s elephants in the camp, the real kings of the jungle, big, humble, majestic animals that actually know what they are doing, intelligent and work in peace but no one fu ks with

Agree with the gist of boxingcutsman's post but I'm not quite so dismissive of padwork. Far from it. Done right it is an invaluable piece of training. Shouldn't be done flashy or for fitness, though, agree with that.

Have we seen the end of this lions in the camp nonsense and all the juvenile handslappy bollox ?

Can't see how it helps him in any way tbh .

Hope for his sake he moves on to pastures new , he's obviously got enough about him to mix it with the big boys .

The Buatsi fight has just swung massively in Buatsi's favour. Yarde needs some really impressive performances now against meaningful opposition.

I'm not advocating he moves trainers like others yet, people are very quick to judge, but I do wonder what Jimmy Tibbs could do with Yarde.

Not sure Jimmy would want to know at this stage in his life. Mark maybe with a bit of input from Jim from time to time. What age is Jimmy now?

I think Booth could make Yarde into an excellent fighter. Teach him how to flow into those power shots. And no more of this silly pads / no sparring nonsense.

Unlikely Jimmy Tibbs would get involved now, but with Jimmy's no-nonsense approach and emphasis on attacking it could turn Yarde into a big attraction.

The thing is when people take a loss it sometimes makes a fight more viable.
Yarde still gives Buatsi a tough night and Buatsi didn't look unbeatable last time out either.

Buatsi is light years ahead of him. Ten bout amateurs against Olympians don’t work out too well. The bloke Buatsi boxed last time out wasn’t bad at all.

I really think Yarde could have done Arthur inside the distance if he'd just put the pressure on like he did in the last round. He was terrified of gassing and is used to pissing around doing nothing against journeymen. It sounds like there will be a rematch and I would expect Yarde to stop him next time although he is probably always going to be petrified of gassing so it's hard to be confident.

I don't think we'll get a rematch anytime soon. Yarde won't fancy it when he's had time to watch the fight back and realise he comfortably got outboxed by a one handed fighter.

I don't think Arthur hurt his right hand, he just didn't need to throw it, the fight was only interesting because we kept thinking Yarde would open up.

Yarde's corner were inept, compare it to when the microphone was on Pat Barrett in the opposite corner, he was giving instructions, insights and keeping Arthur's confidence up. Whilst being in charge of everything that went on in the corner.

Tunde just kept saying Lions in the den, forgot gumshield twice, didn't have control of corner team at all. At no time did he tell Yarde home truths to get him to open up. Shocking

A poor spectacle. No one is talking about Arthur’s prospects of progressing, which says it’s all. Of that, he has something in common with Joyce - both are aging busts at top level.

I used to love the underdog. But I can’t think of two more depressing victories than Joyce & Arthur, regardless of whether they deserved it.
