October 2019, so you can only assume that's not going to aid Theophane if he's got ring rust, whereas Eggington coming off a good 12 rounds against Cheeseman.

Theophane is a tough customer though, only an in form Broner has stopped him.

That stoppage came at 140. Eggy has grown into 154 now and comes in with a good height advantage.

Can see theophane by decision,he is a still a skillful cat and eggington will be walking around the ring like a mummy getting his head boxed off.

I’m not so sure. A peak Theophane would be tough for Eggington but I’m not sure this version of Theophane will be able to outwork him.

I thought Skeete outboxed him quite handily but he was a lot bigger than Theophane.

Eggington has twice been beaten @ odds of around 1-20 and 1-50 so I suppose anything could happen?

Channel 5 will televise every fight on the Sam Eggington vs Ashley Theophane card tonight

Boxing bonanza broadcast on Channel 5 tonight!

Mick Hennessy has announced that broadcaster Channel 5 will televise all of the fights on his event tonight (Friday 11th December) from the Fly By Nite TV studio in Redditch.

The show starts live and free on Channel 5 across the UK at 10pm and opens with the highly anticipated domestic super-welterweight showdown between Sam Eggington and Ashley Theophane.

Action from each of the undercard fights will then be televised in the two hour slot until midnight. An exciting seven fight card features: The Midlands Area Welterweight Championship between fierce local rivals Kaisee Benjamin and Ben Fields; Ireland’s all-action dynamite punching brothers Stevie and Aaron McKenna; Sevenoaks super-welterweight talent Michael Hennessy Jr; Birmingham’s flash and brash middleweight prospect Idris Virgo and Brighton’s hard-hitting pro-debutant heavyweight Tommy Welch the son of former British & Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion, Scott.

Hennessy is delighted that Channel 5 will broadcast all the fights to ensure fans get to see all the action and drama tonight. He said, “For fight fans Channel 5 is the only place they need to go for a night of free and live boxing action. It’s a real pick ‘em showdown between the battle hardened warriors Eggington and Theophane that has the boxing community divided. Also on the card fans will see a fiery Midlands derby between Benjamin and Fields for the area title, new and exciting talents like Stevie and Aaron McKenna, and the continuing careers of Idris and Michael, plus there’s plenty of curiosity around the pro debut of Tommy Welch to see if he’s like his dad.”

Maybe it was just a clash of styles last time out that caused Eggy to throw defense to the wind; I'm just hoping he has an easier fight tonight than he did against Cheeseman because he took a frightening amount of clean shots to the head in that fight, round after round. He maybe only 27 but in boxing terms he's going to age quickly if he keeps having full on battles like that.
