I was more impressed with Hrg before he fell in love with his right. He'll get flattened eventually.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑15 Feb 2021, 21:33 Who knows he fights garbage he might have a china chin for all we know

Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
Fury won the titles from Wlad at 26
Josh beat Whyte at 25 and was champ at 25
Wilder beat Stiv for the WBC just after turning 29
Hrg is 29 soon and has been treading water, with no sign of any sort of big move. he has time enough left but should get a move on quick. they are matching him like they know he's top 20ish and can easily enough beat C+ level, but dont have much confidence in him to test him vs fighters in the same range or above

Fury also fought chisora and Cunningham who are better than anyone hrgovic has fought
Even wilder beat malik scott who is better than mansour (hrgovics best opponent)

Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
Hrgovic had a great amateur career, he fought Mansour and Johnson in his 6th pro fight, which at that time was considered as a step up. Everything started pretty good, Hrgovic was showing signs of being ready to enter the top circle, but then there came this stagnation. What is his team thinking? Isn't he promoted by both Sauerland and Hearns? Can't all of them make a competetive fight for him? These safe-trackings of modern prospects kill them.
Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
Now if you'd said eight fights you may well have had a point. Let's take a look:
----- Hrgovic ------------ Joshua
1. Raphael Zumbano Love v Emmanuel Leo : Leo unbeaten 8-0 0-1 Joshua
2. Pavel Sour v Paul Butlin : arguable but Sour unbeaten 6-0 so 1-1
3. Tom Little v Dorian Darch : Little should win 2-1 Hrgovic
4. Sean Turner v Hector A Avila : Big Sexy 12-1 at the time 3-1 Hrgovic
5. Filiberto Tovar v Matt Legg : Tovar looking like a prospect back then 4-1
6. Amir Mansour v Matt Skelton : Mansour top 30 back then 5-1 Hrgovic
7. Kevin Johnson v Konstantin Airich : Kingpin should win 6-1 Hrgovic
8. Greg Corbin v Gary Cornish : arguable but Cornish unbeaten 21-0 so 6-2 H.
+++++++++++
9. Mario Heredia v Dillian Whyte : Not in doubt 6-3
10. Eric Molina v Charles Martin : Martin was a champion of sorts 6-4
11. Alex Kartozia v Dominic Breazeale : Breazeale 17-0 back then 6-5
12. Rydell Booker v Eric Molina : Molina taken seriously back then 6-6
Conclusion : Hrgovic faced stronger opposition over first eight fights but hasn't stepped up whereas Joshua was IBF champion after 12 fights and has gone on to defeat all comers. I still rate Hrgovic as capable of beating several of the top ten but he really needs to begin proving the point.
Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
That's what I was talking about. Hrgovic had a decent track early on, while he was only with Sauerland, but, after he began co-promoted by Hearn, his opposition became worse.candyslim wrote: ↑16 Feb 2021, 05:23Now if you'd said eight fights you may well have had a point. Let's take a look:

Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
I'm not sure what I think about Filip Hrgović. He sometimes looks good, but then appears deeply unimpressive.
At this point in time though, his resume is padded, a bit like Mark De Mori's, Arnold Gjergjaj's and Christopher Lovejoy's.
He's kind of irrelevant until he faces someone half-decent. And he's yet to do this.
Beating cab drivers and totally shot veterans doesn't provide any valuable information that can be used to formulate a worthwhile opinion of his chances of defeating any of today's top-ten world-rated heavyweights.
Put it this way, Anthony Joshua was less experienced than Hrgovic was when he made his pro debut, but the Brit still managed to capture his first world title 2½ years later (after competing in 15 bouts).
In stark contrast, the next time he steps foot inside the ring, Filip Hrgovic would have been a pro for at least 3½ years, having engaged in only twelve bouts, but will inevitably continue facing journeyman-calibre (horrendously mismatched) opposition for the foreseeable future.
I'm willing to consider the possibility that Hrgović may indeed be a very talented fighter, but (for me at least) he'll remain an irrelevant name on the heavyweight scene until he finally steps up to the plate and defeats a decent world-rated opponent.

One point... I said first 12 fights....Aj 12 fight was Zumbrano Love... The same was Hrgovic first fight.... Martin fight number 15, Cornish, Whyte,Dominic,Vlad that all came after fight number 12 ..... so
Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
It's 'than', not 'as'.
We had a really really really stupid poster a few years back who used to do that all the time. I hope you're not the same bloke.

Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
Filip Hrgović is co-promoted by Sauerland's, German promoters who regularly stage their events around Europe, without involvement from Matchroom.
And I suspect that Eddie Hearn has had little to no involvement in Hrgović's appearances on non-Matchroom fight cards.
Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
I am not...hahaha , sorry if i translate wrong
My language is not english , so you have to read between the lines hahaha
I just say what all the boxers and connoisseurs
they know and they say, Hrgovic is the future champion.....
Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
I do apologize Morm, it seems I completely upfucked that in that I missed out some early AJ fights:
So corrected version:
......Hrgovic............,.......................Joshua
1. RZL. v. Leo. 0-1. Joshua
2. Sour. v. Butlin 1-1
3. Little. v Hrvoje Kisicek 5-6 Little wins 2-1
4. Turner. v. Darch. Turner win 3-1 Hrgovic
5. Tovar. v. Avila. Tovar win 4-1
6. Mansour. v. Legg. Mansour win 5-1
7. Johnson v Skelton. Johnson. win 6-1
8. Corbin. v. Airich. Arguably Corbin 7-1
9. Heredia. v. Denis Bakhtov. draw? 7-1-1
10 Molina. v. Michael Sprott. Molina 8-1-1
11 Kartozia. v. Jason Gavern. Unsure 8-1-2
12 Booker. v. Zumbano Love. Booker 9-1-2
I think that proves your point about Hrgovic facing stronger opposition over their first twelve fights but the point still stands that Joshua has shown great ambition since then and Hrgovic needs to follow his example and soon!

Now i expect less Bakole, but hope Hunter
Ortiz as reserve
Re: Filip Hrgović vs. anybody in the top 10
I think Ortiz would be food for Hrgovic at this stage. Bakole would be competitive but I'd expect Hrgovic to have too much ability for him. Hunter could match him for ability but the physical advantages are with the Croat and I'd expect him to impose those advantages on Hunter in a way that Bakole was unable to.
I do rate Hrgovic highly but I might struggle to justify my faith based on recent evidence. This is how I see him in fights against my top 10 even though he is not yet deserving of a place in it:
(10) Joyce: was only one of four men to beat Hrgovic in a 30 fight career in WSB. and that was by split decision when Filip was only 20 or 21. It would be highly competitive and I couldn't pick a winner with any confidence.
(9) Povetkin: Sasha is always dangerous, ask Dillian, but I'd pick Hrg over an aging Povetkin with much more confidence than I had in picking Whyte.
(8)Hunter: A good fight but Hrgovic is as good as Hunter and considerably bigger.
(7)Parker: Hrg beat Parker as an amateur when both lacked experience and that probably means little now. It's a pick 'em now I reckon.
(6)Usyk: Now this I'd pay to see. Hrg has skills and physical advantages. I'm not sure that would be enough. The winner is whoever shows most improvement from last time out.
(5)Whyte: Another difficult one to predict but if Hrg is as easy for Whyte to hit as Molina found him, then Hrg's chin will be tested like never before.
(4)Ruiz: Could be a real threat if he were in the same shape mentally and physically as he was for Joshua at the MSG. That's quite a caveat though. I'd fancy Hrg to box the ears off the re-match version of Ruiz.
(3)Wilder : Hrgovic is a much more complete fighter but he'd need to treat Wilder with utmost respect. If he trusts his chin to take the big right hand he could be in big trouble, but if he is wary and sticks to his boxing, he has a good chance of winning.
(2)Joshua: Hrg is a big risk for AJ, He has skills. He has power. He doesn't have the same air of vulnerability. I don't think there are more than a handful of fighters, maybe only two who pose a greater threat to Joshua than this guy.
(1)Fury: Hrg is I believe a complete fighter who has few weaknesses which gives him a better chance than most of beating Fury, but ultimately Fury is too big and too mobile.
So are there any fighters who haven't earned a top ten ranking that I think pose a greater threat to Hrg than those who have? In short, yes: Tony Yoka beat him twice, lost once, as an amateur in close fights. I think it's reasonable to expect a fight between them as pros to be equally competitive.
He also split three close fights with the sawed-off Romanian Mihai Nistor who recently turned pro. I'm thinking not so much Nistor but another ferocious short-arse who could make life difficult for Hrg is Oscar Rivas. I'll leave it there while hopefully there is still someone who got this far.

I think hrgovic will prove you haters/critics wrong
He has been ducked don't forget. Michael Hunter got offered the fight and didn't wanna know.
.
Looks like it's gonna be Bakole next on the April PPV so we'll see what Hrgovic is all about then
