Easily josh. Postol, Davies, Belarusian and rougarou is a great lineup. Harrison was your typical warren wbo champion. No one win of his stands out for me.

Harrison was more of a belt holder with the potential to push on but his life caught up with him.

At no point could he have claimed to have been the best in the world, whereas Taylor could claim that now.

Where's Harrison's win that compares to Postol, Baranchyk or Prograis ? :maybe:

well, this is what a pro-harrison dude said when i was discussing it with himm
2 time featherweight champion. Including wins over Chacon, Wayne McCulloch, Michael Brodie and Medina (avenged after first defeat to regain title). Amongst others.

Never lost his regained title in the ring but couldn't defend it because of the crisps.

I love Josh Taylor and he's brought new life into Scottish boxing but he hasn't achieved what Harrison did yet. A blind man could see that

personally i think hyping someone as a 2 time champ is a bit funny when the only reason the won a title 2x is because they couldnt beat the guy the first time

It wasn't Bobby Chacon he beat ! McCullough wasn't a force at featherweight and Brodie was utterly spent at world level.

If he'd have gone in with Injin Chi, Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera...that would have helped his cause, but they kept Harrison a million miles away from those types.

Taylor's a world beater.

Taylor already, even if that seems premature. Harrison just never had a result to match the Prograis win or, probably the Postol win.

Harrison had a great career and fought plenty of world title bouts. But to be frank, the WBO title was still the "minor" one when Harrison was in his prime (in 90% of cases anyway, bar Calzaghe and a few others) and in reality he never even fought the real top names. Taylor has already beaten the top man at 140 and become unified IBF/WBA champ, well inside 20 fights!

Harrison didn’t lose his title because of crisps. He was due to fight Nicky Cook at the Excel but got pulled out because he was about to do an absurd weight cut. It’s one of the fights of the last 20 years that I’m most gutted fell through I thought Cook was gonna do it. Granted in the end Cookie did briefly win a title, I seem to remember him and Alex Arthur almost doing a porn scene after the fight they seemed that in love.

At one point when Harrison was World champ he was in the joint best division in boxing. Featherweight and light welterweight at that time were absurd.

Featherweight had Marquez, Barrera, Pacquiao, In Jin Chi, Morales was I think up at super feather but able to take any of those guys on.

Light welterweight had Hatton, PBF, Pinto, Cotto, Tszyu, Mitchell, Gatti and to be fair Junior Witter was in the spell of his career when he was decent to watch too.

There’s probably a bunch in there I’ve forgotten.

I loved Harrison but Taylor already Scotlands greatest ever boxer, it'll take time for him to be regarded better than Buchanan and Lynch but already he's almost better CV wise and technically he already is

I loved Harrison, went to a few of his fights. Would love to have seen him in with a Barrera, Morales etc from that era.

I don't think he would have won, but he was game enough to give it a go.
