DeLeon took a battering and the fight should have been stopped about a minute before it was, but DeLeon was still on his feet when the ref finally stepped in.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑26 Mar 2021, 00:35 I don't recall if it was a 10 count, but Deleon vs Gordon is my first thought.

Maxim was knocked out cold for sure.He was unconscious on the canvas not moving a muscle and there was concern that he was seriously hurt. The promoter was so anxious that he suffered a heart attack. The commission doctor then had to abandon Joey to tend for the commissioner.Maxim commented afterwards three weeks later after winning a decisive decision in ten with Sheppard in the rematch. He still had a concussion on his brain.
"A foolish thing,"he admitted. If they had had the kinds of physical examinations that we have today(1990) they would have never let me fight. But I was a cocky kid and not any smarter than I should have been.it never occurred to me to be afraid of Sheppard."
