Exactly, I mean it's as clear as day, he's as English as can be, as English as curry goat and rice, ackee, saltfish and Eccles cake.mickey1975 wrote: β04 Apr 2021, 08:14Donβt be ruining my Easter Sunday. Mike is British through and through. MBE long overdue.

It was some win when he went up North and beat Milton McCrory, brother of Glenn.

All jokes aside, it sounds like he's fallen on hard times which is a shame.

Mike-real name David McCallum is famous for playing Illya Kuryakin in the 60's T.V series The Man from U.N.C.L.E and was born in Scotland in 1933,after his acting career ended and having spoken to Mickey Rourke over coffee,Mike decided to take up boxing. After a very short amateur career culminating in 3 contests and 3 losses,Mike decided to turn pro where he went on to become a 3 weight world champ.
Re: Mike Mc Callum
A bit of trivia that not too many boxing anoraks will know - McCallums daughter Pasha Kovalev of Strictly Come Dancing fame, is married to the brother of Filipino great Sergey `Krusher` Kovalev.

McCallum's agent just called to clarify matters regarding Mike's nationality.

Wherever he's from you can guarantee he's a cousin of Tyson Fury.

Mike and his family parked their trailers up on the children's play area near us a few years back. I had a chat with him about his career while he was having a relaxing shit under the climbing frame.

Re: Mike Mc Callum
Mike works in my local Aldi now and i often chat with him,one fight he likes to talk about was the dramatic ko of former P4P star Don Curry and coming over to the UK to beat Graham and Watson, but he told me that collecting the tins of spam and rip off pot noodles from the garden tools section and returning them to their correct shelf is far more satisfying than any of those wins.
Re: Mike Mc Callum
I once saw Mike at the side of the A47 near Acle, selling golf balls he'd retrieved from a lake, all separated by brand and neatly placed on an old Black and Decker Workmate. Lovely guy.
Re: Mike Mc Callum
Had the pleasure to meet Mike in Atlantic City back in the day. As for his nationality, I can confirm that he speaks English.
