Womens Boxing - The weight divisions

Surely, Womens boxing needs to have a more condensed list of weight divisions.

With 2 minute rounds meaning less KOs and with a large pair of breasts meaning you have to fight 2 weight divisions above your body size (Im not on about Bridges silicone)......plus the smaller pool of fighters. It makes more sense to me to have blah blah lightweight, welterweight, middleweight etc etc.

There just arnt enough fighters to justify all of the weight divisions. Win 4 fights and you are up for a world title. Its just not right. Either less weight divisions or less governing bodies, stop feeding these bastards sanctioning fees in the womens game.

ebanie bridges couldnt even win a fight at the aus am nationals, but after 5 pro fights is on to world titles

On a serious note if this list is correct some weight classes are omitted for women, thought as you say they have Atomweight though they can't decide on one name.

with the lack of female boxers having as many divisions as they do spreads them too thin, we just saw 5-0 vs 6-1 for a world title, and you have divisions with literally 15 people in them globally

Because the only way a Female athlete in any sport pretty much ever gets popular is if she can be sold as a sex symbol. A Big Heavyweight Woman can't and won't be sold as a sex symbol in our lifetime, therefore she could only ever have a very minor audience at best.

Many of 'em in any weight class aren't exactly "Hot" but you notice that their publicity photos still try to make 'em look sexy as opposed to tough, because that's what sells.

It's definitely a different culture women's sport and being attractive as a woman makes a big difference to your pay / sponsorships. But in women's Tennis there are plenty of unattractive women who are very respected. Navratilova. Graf. Williams.

Both Bridges and Courtenay are a million times better than some of Christy Martin's opponents who fought for world titles.

It will develop organically, leave it as it is I think.

in all of christy's fights she only fought 3 for world titles and lost 2 of them i think

Were they not for titles? But generally she was considered....before rijker was on the scene, to be the best female boxer and some of her opponents were shocking

no most of them werent , she didnt win a title until almost the end of her career
