10 fights, 10 million all in one year!
Big money in the early eighties. Was really the first SKY frontman
10 in a year, straight up? Fair play to him. No-one does that.
Losing to Collins ruined it! It was supposed to be a world tour! I imagine not fulfilling the deal had an impact on the money but I don't know exactly by how.
Yeah Eubank had to keep winning but still made £600,000 in each of the two fights between the two Collins fights, that both lasted 30 seconds, in
1995.
Also it was Ray Close failing a brain scan why the Collins fight happened in the first place, Eubank-Close III was set for two weeks before Benn-McClellan in Belfast but got cancelled because of the aforementioned. Hearn quickly made Eubank-Collins (Rep of Ireland) set for St Paddy's Weekend for five weeks after the original Close mandatory date.
Eubank in essence then had a whole wasted camp, then doubled up for Collins fight. With no respite since after Berlin a year before. Madness. And he took in South Africa during that too, high altitude down under.
