Re: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Billy Joe Saunders - 8 May 2021
Just seen an interview with Mark Tibbs on Boxing Social. He said Billy Joe had missed a few appointments with him (I assume he’s talking tickover training sessions) yesterday and he was asking the interviewer if he’d any more re: the fight being on/off.
Making themselves look quite amateur.
The interviewer asked whether Billy Joe had fought in any rings bigger than 20ft before and he seemed to be guessing - pretty much saying most of the rings he fought in in the U.K. were bigger than 20ft, which is unlikely given the BBBoC’s rules.

I hope Billy wins. I actually like in. It would be a monstrous upset. Would be nice to see someone give Canelo a fight.

Same here. Hopefully Saunders is motivated enough this time and can bring some surprises.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑05 May 2021, 09:03 I hope Billy wins. I actually like in. It would be a monstrous upset. Would be nice to see someone give Canelo a fight.

Theres always excuses for losses; and I guess poor performances too. However, they are what a boxer is measured on because it demonstrates the complete package .. physical and mental attributes.
Certain people want to believe it's down to ethnicity why lots here writing BJS off .. I think that just says more about them, and how they base opinions on their own prejudices. Truth is BJS, as admitted by himself, has not shown us anything previously to suggest he can beat Canelo .. and some saying he hasn't shown enough lately to even make it competitive.

In interviews before the fight he said it was the best camp he’d ever had and was the fittest he’d ever been.mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 May 2021, 07:29 Billy wasn't even fit. Its was Jrs dream to fight someone so good.
Imagine Freddie Roach or John David Jackson getting hold of Jr after the Saunders fight. Huge waste.

Blackwell came on strong late but lacked the variety to have him in any trouble and Ryder had his best moments in the later rounds too so that's always been a question mark on Saunders, don't forget the Blandamura performance where he looked very flat before landing the finishing combo, kind of like the Coceres fight. As for Jr, he would have done much better if he had listened to Ronnie Davies instead of ignoring him. In one fight I think he even told Ronnie to shut up! Ronnie told him not to speak to him like that and I think he just got tired of Jrs attitude. Sr should have told him not to be such a brat. No top trainer would put up with that nonsense for a second, Ronnie probably put up with it for so long out of respect for Sr.coghaugen11 wrote: ↑05 May 2021, 13:57In interviews before the fight he said it was the best camp he’d ever had and was the fittest he’d ever been.mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 May 2021, 07:29 Billy wasn't even fit. With BJS's style he likes to control the pace so doesn't usually need excessive levels of fitness. I think the way to beat him is to make him work 3 minutes for every round.GreenLightning wrote: ↑05 May 2021, 14:11Blackwell came on strong late but lacked the variety to have him in any trouble and Ryder had his best moments in the later rounds too so that's always been a question mark on Saunders, don't forget the Blandamura performance where he looked very flat before landing the finishing combo, kind of like the Coceres fight. I believe Canelo can and will do this and will win in the championship rounds.

What’s the DAZN app like in terms of showing results on the homepage the following day? I.e. if I try to watch the fight in the morning rather than staying up for it, am I likely to get the result spoiled just by loading up DAZN? Or do they keep results off for a while?

Nope. You won’t see the results. The worst you’ll see is a still photo from the fight which you click on to then see the fight or card.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑05 May 2021, 15:44 What’s the DAZN app like in terms of showing results on the homepage the following day? completely agreeconeye wrote: ↑04 May 2021, 18:42 I must be the only one who agree's with what Saunders is doing / saying ,,, Canelo is the one fooking about , if its not meat , its rehydration clauses , or Canelo weights , followed by his own judges , now its the ring , fook him Billy if you don't need the money WALK , let the world know its Cheatelo's fault , and Hearns should be putting his foot down and saying 20-22 foot ring end off ,,, but then again , a phone call to the texas board to see what ring size is allowed BEFORE they sign contracts should of been made ,,,,, then again HEARN is BJS promoter he should of known and sorted it ,
Don't like Saunders , would'nt mind see him getting sparked , but not in this case i dislike Cheatelo more ..
Also just read on facebook its been called off BJS and team have had enough , read that 2 minuites after i read its on ..
Guess Hearn can't complain now about Billy not doing any publicity![]()
