I did, I cannot tell a lie. I want to see if Lovejoy can fight. I suspect he can't in which case I shall enjoy watching that fact demonstrated to him, and his resulting merciful disappearance from news media.

I mean don't get me wrong. I'd far rather see Spence against Crawford but that's not happening

Kiwi Col wrote: 14 May 2021, 19:03 Even with 4 years off, Charr is light years ahead of his opponent, who has despatched 19 car park attendants, bin men or warehouse staff in a row. Some of these palookas have records like 6-50-2, 0-1-0 or worse. Some are debut fighters. Charr has been in with many rated fighters we've heard of, from Klitschko, Povetkin or Breidis to hardy veteran Kevin Johnson. The man can fight. My bet is Charr despatches 305lb Lovejoy as soon as his heart rate escalates. That could be inside a round. Perhaps Charr, or the other 'WBA champion' Trevor Bryan can fight for unification of this belt for rarely active combatants. Bryan at 21-0 did beat Stiverne in January however, lacing up gloves for the first time in two and a half years. It would be ridiculous to think a guy with 19 KOs of blokes at bus stops could be a WBA champion, but hey....
Welcome aboard Col. Can't disagree with any of that.

Charr wins by 2nd round KO. Lovejoy was awful. Barely got touched and stayed down.

He was looking for a way out from round 1.

Looks like he realised that he had been talking way above his skill level and got a bit of a shock

FFS! :brick:

The bankrupt Lovejoy will probably lose his entire purse and also owe additional money to Don King, in punitive damages, simply because he took a fight against an opponent (when he was in horrendous physical condition) that he would have been quickly KO’d by even if he was at his peak.

I can’t help feeling sorry for Lovejoy. I get the fact he was garbage and everyone knew it, but I wouldn’t begrudge him earning a payday, especially considering how dire his finances really were. :verysad:

He'd beat Lovejoy, who isn't a boxer, but Charr would handle Tyson.

After seeing this it’s almost a shame they didn’t make mike Tyson vs lovejoy, 50-50 that. But Tyson wouldn’t beat char, Tyson was at journeyman levle 15 years ago... his prime was 30 years ago (early prime).
