Dominic Breazeale? Stiverne? Malik Scott? All of these guys are on a comparable level to Martin, who really isn't very good.adislav123 wrote: ↑22 Jan 2021, 13:11whom did mental case beyonce ever 'walk thru within a couple of rounds'?Cyclops wrote: ↑22 Jan 2021, 09:29It's true that they're both absolutely batshit mental. I followed Martin's instagram @iim_god after he lost to Joshua and he was so bizarre and deluded, still carrying his belt around with him and stuff. He looks like someone that smokes bales of weed and drinks cough syrup. I wonder if they have the same dealer?
I remember watching Martin's fight with Washington and commenting on here that both of them looked incredibly uncomfortable as boxers, definitely didn't look like they were enjoying being in there, and both were just relieved that the fight was over when Washington got stopped.
Unless his first loss really has melted his brain the Wilder of old would walk through Martin within a couple of rounds. There is nothing special about Martin whatsoever, apart from his kookiness. They're both so dopey though I'm sure the build up would be absolutely excruciating.
Would I watch it? Yeah.
seriously?

Yep I'd say they're all basically the same level, and Charles Martin getting taken out inside 3 rounds against Wilder is almost guaranteed.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III - TBA
There’s no justification for the WBC to sanction a third bout between Fury-Wilder:
• Deontay Wilder was dominated and destroyed by Tyson Fury during his most recent outing, which took place 14 months ago.
• There was nothing legitimately controversial about Tyson Fury’s victory (only meaningless bṹllṡhḯṫ excuses and accusation made by Wilder).
• It’s been 18 months since Deontay Wilder last won a fight.
• The immediate rematch clause between Fury-Wilder has already expired.
• Dillian Whyte is the WBC interim champion and also Tyson Fury’s mandatory challenger.
• According to the WBC’s own rules, “All WBC champions shall make at least one (1) mandatory defense per year…”, which means that Tyson Fury shouldn't be allowed to perform a voluntary.
It would be a disgrace if Wilder gets a third crack at Fury, because he lost the previous two (in my eyes).

GoFundMe page set up for Deontay Wilder step aside money

With a long-standing legal battle involving Deontay Wilder threatening to derail Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua, one fan has taken it upon himself to ensure it goes ahead by setting up a GoFundMe page for The Bronze Bomber.
Wilder has always been adamant he was owed a trilogy fight with Fury, as stipulated in their contracts, and was furious a third fight had been shelved for the Gypsy King's clash with Joshua.
With a date on August 14 agreed for one of the biggest fights in British boxing history, there is now doubt whether the event in Saudi Arabia will go ahead after a judge ruled in Wilder's favour that Fury owes him another fight.
Wilder is said to be wanting a staggering £14 million ($20 million) pay-off to drop the matter, leaving the whole situation up in the air as any fight between Wilder and Fury has to take place before September 15.
In order to make Wilder go quietly and ensure the Fury vs AJ fight goes ahead as planned, one boxing fan has created a GoFundMe page for fellow fans to donate enough money to hopefully satisfy Wilder's needs.
The creator, Greg Double, wrote: "We all want to see Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury. Unfortunately, the sport of boxing can be AC-12 levels of bent.
"A US Court has now decided Fury has to fight Deontay Wilder for a third time, this means the Joshua-Fury fight could be postponed.
"However, there's still hope of saving it. Deontay Wilder could be paid 'step-aside' money - essentially a big wedge of cash to get out of the way of this all-British superfight.
"If 100,000 boxing fans chip in a tenner - and let's face it, we're used to being ripped off - we can offer him a million quid to get out of the way.
"Not only will it offer an incentive, it will send a message. The fans don't want to see any other fight."
If Wilder declines the amount donated and wishes to proceed with his own battle with Fury, Double has said he will give the money to Boxing Futures project.
Double added: "Whatever money we raise will be offered up to Deontay Wilder. If he declines, I will donate all proceeds to https://boxing-futures.org.uk/ - a charity that uses boxing to help young people fulfil their potential.

No, no, no.
Paying a boxer to not fight?
What an idiotic idea!
Contributing to the corruption in the sport?
This only makes slight sense if Wilder declines.
Otherwise you may as well bend over and donate your money to the favourite boxer of choice.
For not fighting.
That will save the business machine of boxing some hard work in how best to separate you from your income.

Fury-Wilder III Looks Set for July 24
Deontay Wilder beat Tyson Fury once in the courtroom, now let’s see if the former WBC heavyweight titlist can do it once in the ring.
It appears, according to various reports, that Wilder (42-1-1, 41 knockouts) will get his chance at a third time against Fury, The Ring heavyweight world champion and WBC titlist.
The news was first reported by ESPN’s Ben Baby on ESPN.com.
After an arbitration ruling earlier this week in his favor, Wilder was able to halt the negotiations between Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) and IBF/WBA/WBO titlist Anthony Joshua, opening up the possibility of Fury-Wilder III. Neither Wilder nor Fury have fought since Fury demolished Wilder by seventh-round TKO on February 22, 2020, in Las Vegas.
According to ESPN, “Fury and Deontay Wilder have verbally agreed to terms on a third fight, multiple sources confirmed to ESPN. The fight is tentatively scheduled for July 24, with a site in Las Vegas to be determined, according to a source familiar with the negotiations. An alternate date targeted for the fight is Aug. 14, ESPN’s Mark Kriegel reported earlier Thursday.
Top Rank’s Bob Arum told ESPN he expects the contracts to be signed in the coming days. Purses are split 60-40 in Fury’s favor for this trilogy fight, according to Kriegel."
ESPN’s Baby reported that, “after the arbitrator’s ruling, Arum indicated that the plan was to fight Wilder instead of paying him a step-aside fee to maintain the idea of a future bout against Joshua for the undisputed heavyweight title.”
On Tuesday, a charged-up Fury tweeted at Joshua, “I’ll smoke Wilder first then you will get yours.”
Oleksandr Usyk (18-0, 13 KOs) is the mandatory WBO challenger to Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs). Matchroom President Eddie Hearn recently said that if Fury was not available, Usyk could be a possible opponent to challenge Joshua. The Ring reported exclusively on Tuesday Usyk’s demands to fight Joshua as the WBO mandatory.

Arum on Fury-Wilder 3: We're Finishing Paperwork For July 24; Hopefully Done Today
Just three days after an arbitrator ordered Tyson Fury to fight Deontay Wilder next, a deal has nearly been finalized for the heavyweight rivals to fight a third time July 24.
Promoter Bob Arum informed BS.com on Thursday that an agreement has been relatively easy to put together because the terms for their third heavyweight title fight were specified in the contracts for their rematch in February 2020.
“We’re finishing the paperwork,” Arum said after a press conference to promote the Jose Ramirez-Josh Taylor fight scheduled for Saturday night. “July 24th is the working date. Hopefully, we can get it done today. All of the terms are spelled out in that old rematch clause that we had in the original [two-fight] deal. There was very little work to do, almost nothing. It was a two-page document.”
Arum added that T-Mobile Arena and MGM Grand Garden Arena, which was the site of their rematch, are potential venues, along with the Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium. Regardless, Arum, whose company co-promotes Fury, said Fury-Wilder III will take place in Las Vegas.
Their rematch, which Fury won by seventh-round technical knockout, established a Nevada record for ticket revenue for a heavyweight fight, just over $16.9 million. By the time they fight a third time, Arum anticipates that the United States’ COVID-19 travel ban on visitors from the United Kingdom will be lifted, which would allow Fury’s fans from the UK to fly to Las Vegas for their third fight.
As quickly as the deal for a third Fury-Wilder pay-per-view fight has come together, Arum still can’t comprehend how judge Daniel Weinstein ruled Monday that Fury must honor his contractual clause to fight Wilder next. Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs), the WBC champion, thought he was headed toward a more lucrative showdown with British rival Anthony Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs), the IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO champion, on August 14 in Saudi Arabia.
“It was a real gut punch,” said Arum, a Harvard-educated attorney. “But luckily, I’m a little sophisticated, so I know if you have a case where you’re a hundred-percent sure of winning and you don’t get the win, it can happen. I mean, the decision I think is incomprehensible. But again, we lost. And therefore, we’ve gotta make do.”
Arum figures Fury will stop Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) again in their third bout, but he acknowledged that the hard-hitting Wilder remains dangerous.
“Will it be any different from the last fight?,” Arum said. “Who knows? Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. What am I gonna say? Based on the last fight, it should be a relatively easy fight for Fury. But you know in boxing, particularly with the heavyweights, this next fight could turn out different.”
The 6-feet-9, 273-pound Fury overwhelmed Wilder with his physicality and pressure in their rematch.
He dropped the 6-feet-7, 231-pound Wilder once in the third round and again in the fifth. Their surprisingly one-sided encounter ended in the seventh round, when Wilder’s former assistant trainer, Mark Breland, threw in the towel because he felt Wilder was taking too much punishment.
Wilder fired Breland because he threw in the towel. The former champion has since added Malik Scott, an opponent Wilder once knocked out in the first round, to a training team headed by Jay Deas.

The long layoff and the change of team will benefit Wilder, as it would have helped him overcome his mental trauma and also rid himself of reminders (rightly or wrongly) of those he "blames" for his destruction.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑25 May 2021, 07:09 A positive for Fury in this fight is that Wilder has also not fought since he lost to Fury.
