They've always been like that and the town has about 80,000 population including a large percentage of Asian people who generally don't follow football plus Blackburn a few miles away. They were massive in the lower leagues. I remember Scarborough getting into the 4th division for the first time and their first fixture was Wolves at home. A seaside town in mid August... it was all over the news, a Wolves fan fell through the roof. They absolutely took over the place for the whole weekend. I think they brought more than the ground capacity itself. Good side - two underrated players John Sheridan pulling the strings and David Hirst as a finisher. Danny Wilson seemed to pop up a lot.

He's achieved more than Hatton at the weight in just 18 fights

I’m positive Wednesday and United have a combined fan base of half a mill.

But he hasn't beaten a Tzsyu!danconnollyeire wrote: ↑25 May 2021, 07:16 He's achieved more than Hatton at the weight in just 18 fights
He has done everything possible so far but needs at least an elite win to cement greatness
At the moment Hatton should be rated higher
Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
He needs to beat a Laguna at least before he can be regarded as Scotland's finest
Nobody is saying that Taylor isn't the best in the division or isn't world class

Surely peak Tszyu stopping Hatton isn’t a controversial take? I’d definitely agree with that.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑25 May 2021, 09:25and he retired after the fight, doesn't exactly speak to him being at the top of his game (IMO peak KT would stop Hatton, awaits pelters...)

they have juan estrada at 8 but he got a gift vs little chocolate
Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
So who would you put above him?
Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
Prograis was being bigged up as a future p4p star, it's blatantly obvious now that's an massive over estimate of his abilityMightyWarrior wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 18:01 You’re talking a load o shite now, how has Prograis turned out to be overrated ? And Ramirez bang average now ? That’s so off the mark it’s hilarious![]()
Ramirez is just a standard wbo level fighter he's nothing special at all, it's not a exceptional division it's as simple as that

i dunno mate, prograis has looked pretty dang good pretty much every time ive seen him, even in losing to josh
ramirez was legit top 3 in the world, unified champ and olympian, a very tough strong guy with a good engine, educated pressure, and thudding combos. not like he is amazing, true, but defo better than the average title holder in boxing

Davis is so shite he's barely domestic title levelTHEBUTCH wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 19:13 No one has carved up O'Hara Davies the way Taylor did.
Postol was most certainly world class when Taylor boxed him with only a dozen pro fights under his belt. That's a sensational win !
Baranchyk was a serious force and Taylor did the hard graft and put Ivan in his place. No question a Taylor win.
Martin didn't know what to do with Josh and caved in before it got ugly.
The Prograis fight was very close, but IMO the right man won. Prograis was at the peak of his powers and is a danger for anyone at 10st.
Ramirez is a terrific fighter who clearly has more to his game than just slinging lots of punches and piling on the pressure, but the knockdowns were the difference.
There's a definite case for Taylor being an elite boxer.
Postol was over the hill and overated after his win against a shot to shit Lucas matthyste. Taylor went life and death with postol
Martin turned out to be awful and completely out of his depth
Prograis is overated he won't go on to achieve anything spectacular in the sport
Ramirez is a 1 dimensional Mexican that can only do 1 thing and try to get on the inside. Due to Taylor gassing as usual and having to take his foot off the gas he was very lucky to get the knock-downs or the fight was either way
Barancky was just a highish level banger , again Taylor gassed and got lucky he knocked him down or imo barancyk won that fight. An elite level fighter would deal with a basic brawler like barancky with ease withing 6 rounds
None of these wins are elite or comparable to Buchanans or lynch's best wins
People are getting carried away with Taylor because unfortunately the standards of boxing are no where near what they were even 15-20 years ago let alone during the golden era of the sport
Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
Could turn that around and say the exact same for anyone that thinks Taylor's current resume is better than BuchananSteveh583 wrote: ↑25 May 2021, 02:19personal biasOmerta wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 17:11Yes but prograis has turned out to be completely overrated and Ramirez is just an bang average wbo type world level fighter, he hasn't got any wins against elite opposition like Buchanan and lynch have. Also it's not a great division he has cleared out and every top guy in it that he has beaten have been very close fights that could of went either way.Liston Like Jab wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 08:51
Hasn't he just beaten the two top guys in the division and is now clearly #1 in his division?

I don't think Omerta likes Josh. He might be that orange bouncer he threatened to slap.
