Don’t think so. If it was Jake Paul vs Floyd, and a pro 8-10 rounder then it might. But Logan dosent have the boxing credibility of his brother and it’s an exhibition.. mayweather record has to be at stake.

This may not get #1... wouldn't be surprised to see it get into Top 5 Boxing/MMA PPVs ever.. sadly.gregregegg wrote: ↑03 Jun 2021, 17:24Don’t think so. Floyd will toy with him for 5-6 rounds then KO. They'll both make millions. I'll watch it on YouTube.

jake has at least shown some skills and power. and has seemed more commited to boxing (and from a younger age). not saying he is Ali, but from all evedence available he is lots better than logan, giving him at least a punchers chance. (i know thats hard to fathom and insulting to some boxing fans but floyd is old, near 50lb smaller and who knows how much he has trained in the last 5+ years.).adislav123 wrote: ↑03 Jun 2021, 23:42did i miss something?gregregegg wrote: ↑03 Jun 2021, 17:24Don’t think so. If it's free I might watch it.
It's just not on my boxing radar, Floyd must be getting well paid to do this.

I really don’t know what to think of these novelty circus events…
Part of me despises them, but a smaller part feels compelled to watch them (though not enough to pay for them).
Part of me thinks they’re bad for the reputation of the sport and its history, but a smaller part appreciates how incredibly valuable they are for providing exposure to boxing.
Part of me dislikes Floyd’s “Money May” persona and desperately wants to see him lose, but another part of me would be hugely disappointed if he tasted defeat against someone like Logan Paul.
It’s a really weird mixed set of emotions.

Right, so if this is an exhibition, how come I can bet on it. Surely an exhibition is just a couple of blokes going through the motions?
For me, it's not an exhibition, it's an unsanctioned fight. Floyd looks like he wants to take the head of Logan Paul and Paul is trying to be all hard too. I reckon they'll both go for it.
Although the more I think about it, the more ridiculous it is. A 50-0 all time great against a bloke who's only fight was a loss to KSI

Someone mentioned this. It’s wrong for betting companies to allow betting on an exhibition.milpool wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 08:27 Right, so if this is an exhibition, how come I can bet on it. Surely an exhibition is just a couple of blokes going through the motions?

There’s gonna be no winner. Was same for Tyson-RJJ, imagine bettering on Tyson and even the WBC judges that were installed had it a draw too.

One small subsequent rule change, both men will be wearing 10oz gloves.

Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - June 6, 2021
One small comment, which might ultimately be a meaningless point…
The videos of Floyd Mayweather Jr’s pad and heavy bag work makes him look distinctly unimpressive.
I don’t really have a problem with his technique, but rather his middle-aged “dad bod”, because his arms seem rather thin to me (in comparison to his trunk).
If Floyd no longer has sufficient athleticism to employ his technique and gameplan (due to a combination of his age, coupled with not keeping himself in "fighting shape"), then Logan Paul’s age, size and fitness levels could pose some serious problems for ‘Money May’, especially during the second half of the exhibition.
One would expect Floyd to be much heavier-handed than Logan Paul. And that might be enough to allow Mayweather Jr. to retain ownership of the winning momentum, even if he’s physically unable to compete for the entirety of each three-minute round.
Whatever happens, I don’t expect either man to force the stoppage (due to business reasons). No one wants to derail the gravy train.
So if one them emerges more dominant than the other, then I expect them to carry their opponent… perhaps to the point they might even be tempted to play possum (by pretending to be hurt at some stage to make the exhibition appear more competitive than it really is- a bit like a scripted WWE-type fight).
We may even see some fake manufactured “controversy” surrounding the outcome (even though there won't be an official "winner" per se), to help theatrically sell the rematch or a future bout between Floyd and Jake.
I think there's going to be plenty of drama, but none of it will be genuine - just rehearsed nonsense.

Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - June 6, 2021
The last sentence is all that needs to be said. This whole fight is already set up and the storylines set. Floyd will allow this kid his moments in order to satisfy the ppv money spent until later in the fight where im sure it’s been decided that they will then fight for real and Floyd will discard him respectfully. In a way where both guys can go home to count money with their respect still in tact. Brilliant.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 09:28 One small comment, which might ultimately be a meaningless point…

Mayweather vs Paul: Study shows most Americans rooting for Floyd Mayweather
Floyd Mayweather isn’t often the “babyface,” but he appears to be compared to Logan Paul.
A study from BetOnline.ag and Sports Insider found that Mayweather is the “good guy” in this one:
The survey was conducted by examining geotagged Twitter data during the last month. BetOnline tracked and compiled more than 100,000 tweets, hashtags and direct keyword phrases such as #teammayweather, #teampaul, #teamloganpaul and #logang.
Is this “scientific data”? Sure, why not? It’s an exhibition boxing entertainment extravaganza, let’s roll with it. Who cares?
Anyway, here’s the state-by-state breakdown:

Worth noting, I suppose, that Paul is apparently the fan favorite in Mayweather’s original home state of Michigan.
You actually can bet on this “fight,” but some books have already refunded all bets placed before June 3, because there was great shock when it turned out no winner will be announced if it goes the eight-round distance. We’ve tried to tell you that since the damn thing was announced, but people hate to listen.

Ashamed to have been born in a Logan Paul state.
Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - June 6, 2021
I wouldn't be surprised if most of those Paul states just dislike Floyd more than Paul. Neither are the most likeable character.

Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - June 6, 2021
The likely reason Mayweather looks out of shape is because he doesn't need to be in shape. I don't know much about Logan Paul and don't care to know more but I assume the fight is either staged like a wrestling event or he's so incompetent even a middle aged out of shape Mayweather can easily defeat him. Why anyone would waste their money, or even their time to watch it for free, is something I have trouble understanding.
This kind of event is an insult to real boxers. The people who train their asses off and put their lives on the line in the ring and I will boycott it like I did the other uncompetitive Mayweather fights. Including the Berto fight which still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

The important question is...does Arias have a legit shot at defeating Hurd? Nothing else matters.
