Gavin? I'm not sure he was lazy as such, but that he just didn't know anything about diet to get himself down to his natural weight (light welter) and even when they brought in a dietician for him he didn't like it because he thought they were feeding him too much!

He was completely lazy in every aspect of boxing. He fucked the Olympics and he fucked making his family’s future secure by being lazy and ignorant towards boxing.
He’s now offering out boxing lessons for money and working on the roads.
Sad state of affairs for a world champion and world class amateur.
Him using excuses to mask laziness just about sums up his career.
Plenty of boxers out there don’t have access to weight-making professional help like Gavin did, and yet still make weight and make the best of their abilities.
I don’t know Frankie but I’m guessing he regrets the last 10 years as it could’ve been so much more.
To blame others for his shortcomings… I’m not comfortable with that tbh.
The boy was gifted with world class skills at the end of the day.

He was very talented but just not very gifted in the brains department. I feel a bit protective of Gavin for some reason. He was such a div. Could've been a very rich man, if he'd actually made light welterweight. As it is, he couldn't and got the snot beaten out of him. Working the roads? I'm not going to put the boot into him.

I don’t mean to put the boot in but I just don’t feel sorry for him and think I think he’s been his own worst enemy.
He obviously got more than enough help regarding his career and he obviously chose not to take it.
The fact that he was fighting at welter tells me all
I need to know; even at 140lbs he looked soft.
Could’ve been at lightweight and if he put the right effort in consistently then I’m sure he’d be a superstar.
Fact is he didn’t and isn’t… and I’m sure every boxer listed in this thread has their own reasons for failure.
I don’t wish him bad at all in the future… I just think he was one of the laziest boxers I’ve ever seen but I get your point so fair enough.
Plus plenty of boxers have zero brains yet forge good careers because of their determination and attitude.
