There is a circle of blame

Unfortunately the bovine public who click PPV and have spent 3 decades legitimizing alphabet baubles and sub-standard undercards must share that blame alongside the parasites at the top

No uk broadcaster gives a f**k about boxing

Which is a shame as done right and at it's best boxing is the best sport in the world in my opinion bar none

But all the bulls**t politics and fights not happening and stupid belts,at least boxing news have changed their views and will only recognize proper champions & fighters in ring achievements, what ever good it will do who knows but at least someone in the sport is showing sense

Bods say boxing has always had politics and fights falling through in a bad way but that means nothing to me if I wasn't around to watch that era,I'm talking about current times and boxing is in a s**t and sorry state and anyone who talks up for it at the moment I don't really get :maybe: I prefer boxing much more to the ufc but the ufc is run so much better, fighters are fighting the fights they should be fighting on a regular basis and that's how it should be

You won't come close anywhere to the skill and technique of boxing, just no one in the game seems to have any sense any more

What I’ve noticed over the years is, we spend more time on here talking about politics and fights that didn’t happen than we do about fights that did.

It’s a sad state of affairs.

Imagine Man City saying they’re not playing against Real Madrid for instance, or the Lakers avoiding the Bulls for 5 years till their best player got old

Exactly,it's had it's day.If i asked a casual to name me ten uk fighters, they'd say Joshua and Tyson Fury, that's it.

It has mate,it's in a bad bad way,it's Embarassing to be honest,it's a sport which at it's bare bones pits two men against each other, you either have the a*rsehole for it or you don't,so that makes it a serious do to begin with, but it's basically just a parody and a joke these days,Insta fighters, and youtubers and pony belts and ridiculous rankings,

Become one of the most moodiest sports on the planet, took the severity of two men testing their competitive nature against each other and made it into a joke

Course you still have your proper fights, but it's heavily outweighed by moody s**t,this current boxing Is like plastic boxing

Yes, I can see why though there is less interests in boxing amongst broadcasters. Perhaps its cos of the pandemic and perhaps its because certain promoters are more accessible than others and because they are more accessible their shows are promoted more - but you seem to be getting one extreme or the other.

We either get PPVs that are not worthy of the name and then area title fights hyped like up to the extreme like they are some major fight or its the opposite - fights are good hardly mentioned and the fans don't know they are on.

Yes I know PPVs might not be any more now (bar Joshua)but its still the over hype. As an example, Fight camp which lets be frank isn't particularly interesting is getting more press coverage than Spence vs Pacquiao as an example.

And then the flip you get others, even allegedly cards and I go "shit was that on". Joyce vs Takam has only started receiving some hype on fight week.

Why can't we have a happy medium when it comes this British domestic shows.... Announce, let the fighters train, and then 2/3 weeks before the fight then start the hype up. At the moment with Hennessy on 5 we get ZERO hype, with Warren on BT we seem to get only mentions on social media in fight week (nothing on BT itself) and with Eddie we get months and months of it.... and NONE are right IMO. Warren / Hennessy are too little. Eddie is too much and broadcasters will be dissapointed - but now off course Eddie is about subscriber figures and not viewing figures - so it is good to get in early.

Joshua Usyk is a risk if they are reliant on the gate receipts from a full house as things change daily now

I’m referring to all the new tube channels eg IFL. New managers the likes of Sam Jones.

Not that closed a shop.

thats business i guess if the money aint there they wont stick about , but with there being to much ppv on youtube with domestic british cards you cant keep up or afford it you end not watching any then really only maybe paying for one or 2 ppv cards a year .a lot of sites now you cant watch back the fights in america on sunday in uk you lose interest , i know its a sport were fighters deserve there money but maybe the promoters are taking to much of the pie

They haven't even managed to shift the ringside seats for Joyce this weekend. Thousands of tickets still available. The sport is on its arse.

Seen some rubbish KSI reckons him & his lot have fetched a lot of new comers to the sport

Deluded, people of all interests turn out for big fights anyway, then they f**k off never to be seeing a 1-2 again til the next big fight, and there's nothing wrong with that,"diehards" that chime on about casuals seem to forget the sport will be even more f***ed without them as they pour far more dough into the game, the way the sports marketed these days they're pulling the pants down and taking the piss out of the boxing connoisseur anyway, but Ksi thinking the YT fights that fetch with it a load of divs, and then they stay on and watch something like joyce takam which as mentioned hasn't even shifted ringside seats is just ridiculous

Long term I think boxing is going to give way to MMA. The history of boxing is what is keeping it above MMA marginally but what is going to happen when MMA has 100 years of history behind it? 200? 300? It's going to take over because it's a sport with far less politics and where the best fight the best. The money is going to keep growing in the sport and it will be on par with boxing. Youngsters will then start taking up MMA more than they take up boxing. I think this is absolutely inevitable with the way the politics of boxing and MMA work.
