What can be realistically done to make Spence vs Crawford fight ?

Remembering long wait to Canelo - Golovkin fight, that was some 2 years. But Spence - Crawford is fight boxing community desperately wanna see for more than 2 years man. I understand Spence and Crawford did not reach popularity of Alvarez or Golovkin, but still think this can be megafight, career defining for both.

Edit: good thing is, both guys are in prime, and will be for at least 3 years. Hopefully waiting will be not that long

Crawford wants 50-50. For the fight to happen, he'll have to accept 60-40 or 70-30. Spence is clearly the A side for PPV $ draw.

Floyd only made half of what DLH made, had to go to 154, let DLH choose gloves, total A side to him.

Canelo had to make similar B side concessions to Floyd.

Even with 30 or 40 %, it will be big $ for Crawford, and a chance at a career defining fight...but there is Arum to deal with. So, it's on Crawford if it doesn't get made.

Top Rank and Terence Crawford definitely don’t want the Shawn Porter fight.

Instead, they were desperately hoping to face a blown-up junior welterweight, such as Regis Prograis, Jose Ramirez or Jose Zepeda on the 23rd October.

Top Rank was even considering Josesito Lopez, another fighter who’s natural habitat (or optimal fighting weight) is 140lbs.

However, it seems the WBO have TODAY forced Top Rank and Terence Crawford’s hands, by forcing them to make the Shawn Porter bout!

If the fight goes to purse bids, expect Top Rank to submit a lowball offer, with the expectation that Fox or Showtime will, in conjunction with the PBC, to cover the bout.

The welterweight champion finally has another fight on the horizon.

Terence Crawford has reportedly been told to defend his WBO welterweight championship against Shawn Porter by the governing body.

The undefeated American, often mentioned as one of the contenders for the world’s best pound-for-pound boxer, has often been at odds with his Top Rank head Bob Arum over which fights he should make, but there is a clear way forward for him now, reports Sky Sports.

Porter - a former welterweight world champion himself - and Porter have to come to an agreement by August 20, otherwise the fight will go to purse bids.

Crawford has won belts at three weights over the course of his career, and has not suffered a loss in 37 fights. He has beaten British fighters Amir Khan and Kell Brook to defend his WBO belt, both wins coming by stoppage.

The fight means that any clash between Crawford and Josh Taylor, the newly crowned undisputed light welterweight, will have to wait. Taylor has also been linked with Teofimo Lopez, who is eager to defend his lightweight belts against his IBF mandatory, George Kambosos Jr.

It may take one of them to lose. Fighters are a lot less scared and often demand less in negotiations once they realise their career no longer relies on being unbeaten.

I think Mikey Garcia is going to fight Prograis. I thought he should have targeted Ramirez and Taylor instead of Spence. But Spence was a bigger fight. Now is just Taylor to target. Crawford vs Taylor is targeted for early 2022, if they both continue winning.
