Question: How are the rankings affected by
My vote: Joyce stays at #9, Takam remains unranked.
pretty much my reasoning too.....i would defo put him ahead of parker and hunter on recent form, as hunter has done nothing for a while and parker i thought lost to chisora (who imo is only slightly better than takam)Cyclops wrote: ↑25 Jul 2021, 16:27 Joyce to 6.
Hunter has done nothing for ages and is fighting Mike Wilson, who I have never heard of, next and was beaten up and nearly stopped by Usyk. Joseph Parker looked flat and lost in my opinion to Chisora, while Ruiz had to go 12 with saggy Arreola and both Parker and Ruiz got put over in the first and neither looked comfortable. Joyce provided an exciting fight and stopped his gatekeeper opponent.
I can see the argument that he should be ranked below Ruiz because of the AJ win, but that was ages ago, avenged fairly easily and appears increasingly to have been some sort of weird anomaly.
EDIT: Just looked up Mike Wilson. There's no date of birth that I can see but he looks about 45, is a career cruiserweight and has a knockout ration of under 50%. That's a dogshit fight. Sorry.
Arreola had been out of the ring longer, and all the same things you give Ruiz a pass for you'd have to give Arreola, all the while with Andy also being younger and supposedly a far superior fighter. He has no excuse.stpeach wrote: ↑25 Jul 2021, 17:29 Question: How are the rankings affected byJoe Joyce's TKO 6 win over
Carlos Takam?
My vote: Joyce moves to #7, Takam remains unranked.
I believe that unless Ruiz proves he has slid Joyce is going to have to beat a top 6 opponent to overtake him. While not impressive vs Arreola, there were extenuating circumstances (ring rust, covid disrupting normal training, weight, etc..) and in the end he won against a game opponent despite going down early.
Parker is a tricky one. He has good resume, but the timeing is weird and no good+convincing wins of late. Also he has been very lucky and very unlucky, which i guess balances out a bit.Wales wrote: ↑26 Jul 2021, 01:21 The other day, on here I think, I commented that Parker was in the second tier of the heavyweight boxers. Fury Wikder AJ tier one , then some guys in tier 2 which I included Parker.
The more I’ve thought of it the more I’ve questioned if im almost hardwired to put him there.
He’s not had a significant win in 5 years (although granted he nearly finished Whyte in the 12th) and is he any good, really.
He probably deserves to be in that second tier, but if he’s placed there it’s only because the quality is so poor. He’s certainly the one, I’d put in tier 2, fighters wanting to break into that group would want to face
I'd kick him out too but that's not how this thread works. It's based on fight results. When he fights Mike Wilson we can vote on him then and basically vote him out of the top 10 if we all agree on it. Until then, we can all only vote on who has just fought, which was Joyce and Takam.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑27 Jul 2021, 09:09 Hmm.. don’t feel like changing anything up tbh.
Don’t want him above Parker just yet. Unless they all move up and Hunter comes down due to inactivity.
I like Hunter, but why TF is he so high up?
Was that ranking since he drew with Povetkin?
You'd have to ask aicheligad for confirmation on that. It's his rules, as he's the OP.tiny_acres wrote: ↑27 Jul 2021, 12:47 What are the rules of these rankings when it comes to inactivity?
How long is someone inactive for before being removed?
