It's £2 a month.
Like your expecting the meat in your kebab to be from a recognisable farm animal.
It is good value, I've been subscribed since it started in the UK and will do so when it increases in price. That ain't the point.

To keep it simple for you, and I don't eat kebab's but no matter: If your kebab man is selling you a chicken kebab and you end up getting rat kebab. The price is not the point, it's what you've been sold.

Eddie has gone way over the top with all the game changed nonsense and I am usually one of the few on here that support the guy.

He’s a promoter though. What do you expect? He’s not going to come out and say ‘It’ll be similar to what you saw Sky with a few more competitive fights’.

He came out with all of the bluster to try and get people to subscribe and watch. I’d be surprised if he did anything different.

Fair enough.
I really enjoyed the boxing so much, that the ancillary stuff just didn't matter to me.
Ive moaned enough about predetermined outcome cards. This was way better*

By the time its Kebab'o'clock id probably chow down on a rat Kebab....

Game wasnt changed but i didnt expect it to be. No Adam smith is a nice bonus thats good enough for me. as long as there arnt actively anoying comentators (ben davison), and not to big a gaps between fights and no fornicating anthems (especialy not 3 of them like when canelo fights a brit in the USA). main thing is compeditive fights, there were a few on the card so ill give it a pass.

I don't like the fact they had 'Game Changed' plastered all over camp.

They needed some sort of slogan. It was OTT but I’d expect nothing less from Eddie.

They are basically selling what would have been a standard night of boxing years ago as some sort of a big event.

Is it me or are the next 2 fight camp cards, particularly undercards really weak.

Aside from the Main events is there any worth watching. Maybe the English Heavy fight.

That's exactly what they are doing. They don't have the depth of talent or household names to do anything more. Yet.

Two solid and enjoyable fights. Terrible presenters and some very suspect calling of the fights.

Think we all agree that no game was changed!

What do we think, however, would achieve that claim?

Their focus has been on ‘updating’ the coverage (although whether it has improved is debatable).

But maybe only a move to Improve the actual sport could really be classed a genuine game changer.

Could someone with deep pockets actually bring about the one division, one champion panacea?

Hearn Senior genuinely changed the games of snooker and darts. Could Eddie do the same with boxing, despite its globally fragmented and political nature?

I don't think so. Boxing is huge worldwide, Hearn Senior had the monopoly on darts and snooker. Boxing will always be fragmented as there is too much money involved and too many people wanting a piece of the pie.

Boxing will be very difficult to get under one umbrella and I think it’ll need the top 4/5 promoters to be on board to make proper changes.

I wonder how much it would cost to buy the sanctioning bodies.

Barry didn’t have a monopoly on darts when he started. He took over the PDC in early 2000s and pretty much created one by turning it into the machine it’s become today. In the early 2000s BDO was still more recognised and had similar prize money.

Snooker’s only been under one umbrella for the last 40 years so he had an easier time of it there but he helped globalise the sport in the 80s and reinvigorated a stagnant sport in the late 2000s when they gave him control.

I think the only way it works if is someone other than a promoter, with bucket loads of cash, sets up a new organisation where the rewards are so great and the exposure so high that all the major promoters sign up to it.

Possibly a broadcaster with streaming money.

Nothing game changing so far...
It concerns me for “the sport” that a lot of casuals still don’t know it exists.
Anyone know what the UK subscription level is at?

No idea and agree with your comment on casuals. I know a lot of casuals that subscribed because of the Billy Joe/Canelo fight but no one was mentioning it at the weekend.

They need a big U.K. fight on there. Dillian Whyte will help but they need to give it more buzz. In hindsight launching it during the Olympics wasn’t the smartest idea.

They need Joshua on there, and ideally Joshua/Fury, followed by regular fights for people like Dillian Whyte, Connor Benn, Chris Eubank Jnr, and Josh Warrington.

Get ready for Eddie to keep saying this is all a long term plan.

If DAZN's proposed / rumoured take over of BT Sport happens what is that going to mean for boxing.

Warren and Hearn on the same platform? - I really cannot image either party being happy - especially Hearn you would think who has invested a lot into the DAZN project - both promoters love the words "exclusive" and do not like it when someone tries to challenge that - remember Eddie Hearn and the old PPV is exclusive to matchroom business and also when other promoters tried to join Setanta - well we all know how Warren reacted to that.

Isn't allegedly also part of BT Sport also?

If DAZN did buyout BT Sport, I’d be amazed if they didn’t dump Warren. His recent cards haven’t exactly been setting the world alight, and he’s not really got any big names / money spinners (am not including Tyson in that, because frankly I don’t fully understand what their relationship is actually supposed to be).

With the backing DAZN has, it is pretty much the standard buisnes model to swallow up all the competition and monopolise.
And then charge accordingly :verysad:

There is a rumoured price rise in September but only 1 UK show each month, what gives?

I know Canelo probably thrown in too but I'm not sure how a price rise is a goer. Joshua Usyk is on Sky.

Annoying thing is they have no interest in any American or other cards that don't involve Matchroom. allegedly had multiple cards a week from America Germany and Russia. Pacquiao Spence has no broadcaster

There will still be Golden Boy shows in DAZN to watch. Their aim is to have a show a week on there. It won’t get to that but they’ve got 3 I think US shows lined up ready to announce once Canelo’s sorted. One Whyte (if he’s not on Canelo’s undercard) and one Gonzalez/Estrada.

In other countries they show more than boxing so I guess some of that will get lumped in too.

It's just a slogan isn't it to try and drum up some interest. Can hardly blame them. In reality the game hasn't changed in the slightest. Unless you're counting getting worse lol.
