Ian Clyde fought for the world title himself, getting KO'd inside 10 rounds for the IBF flyweight title. I always thought Scottie Olson should have fought for a legit world title - he was a good fighter who was always on Eurosport!

Clyde turned pro with Angelo Dundee and made his way to Cardiff in 1983 and was robbed of the 10-round decision against reigning British flyweight champion Kelvin Smart. That killed a potential Clyde-Magri rematch because Terry Lawless, who was at ringside, put the block on it but Magri himself never seemed keen on a second go. He turned pro in late 1977 with the Commonwealth Games less than a year away. Clyde represented Canada in those Games and scored a brutal first-round knockout of Ireland's Hugh Russell on his way to the flyweight final, where he was outscored by Kenya's brilliant Mike Irungu.

It was very close. I thought he lost that last round but he’s put himself in the final. Plus who the fck is Reggie Woodhall? Get it sorted BBC

Yeah Cuban was a level above - thought Woodhall's commentary was way off. Cuban bossed that and McCormack couldn't answer his speed.

His commentary in the Whitaker final was also poor. He kept raving about Whitaker's jab even though he was flicking out jabs which didn't land. Woodhall is too close to these guys to speak rationally.

He's definately pro the Brits - I think there is only been one fight involving in a Brit where he seemed to be scoring the fight for the Brit.

So far - I've agreed with all the judges call - some close ones but none controversial IMO.

Hmm. Price is the world champ, European champ and beat the Dutch lady in the semi who she also faced in the worlds final.

The Chinese lady looked good but I don’t write off Price’s chances and, if anything, I think she’s favourite to win.

Been some top top contests this year - such a shame the BBC coverage has been pretty dire compared to 2016 and 2012.

The Heavyweight final was a great one on paper and what about Keyshawn Davis vs Cruz. Davis has (according to boxrec) an 80-12 amateur record and off course has fought has a pro and was looking good..... Cruz (according to boxrec) is 111-8!

And yet Eddie Hearn is championing Ebaine Bridges as the fight to look out for this weekend.

She was a world champ in 2018. She didn’t fight in the last world champs I don’t think.

I’m not disputing that she’s good. I just don’t think the Chinese lady is a ‘huge favourite’.

Yeah, Dychko vs Joshua was close, but here it's tough to argue on a dec, while bouts vs Savon and Camarelle were clear robberies.

Dychko is wasting his pro years though. Look, how talent can be wasted with a bad team.

And how it can be upgraded with a good one, by the Joshua example. Eddeh was given Joshua a lot of dividends in advance, a fast track to the top, biased judging, etc. Although Joshua is constantly showing progress.

Let's say he has 3 years of peak.
That's enough to have a title shot.
He does have a bit of power, that can keep him in the game longer.

he looked good and does have a pro style , but i wouldnt bet on him for a big pro career

at his weight he'll be absolutely ancient turning pro at that age, and he was nearly 29 year old fighting 20 year olds, 22 year olds, etc

Today it's possible to track guys fast. He has a good style for pros, he should take a chance.
