I don't think Yoka would last the distance with Joyce in a proper pro fight. Joyce is far too strong for the Floppy Frog. It would be great to see Joyce scalp another younger hyped up prospect. I don't see Yoka taking it, though. Be great if they had a crowd and it was at the 02 if the COVID restrictions allow. Sign me up already.

EDIT: Never mind. Misread the thread.
Seems like it might be Joyce vs Takam or Joyce vs Yoka at the moment.

Let's face it, who wouldn't love to see Joyce get revenge on Yoka?
Would pay to see Joyce take apart Yoka.

I'd have to back Joyce, but think it would be a hard fight for big Joe. Would make a great European title fight.

Huck is over 5 years past his best.

He’s been around for years.

Cheers. I’m gutted. I love Joyce won a lot of money on him. I believe he would stop Usyk now. And he’s not young so needs to move. He’s also very likeable

Good grief, surely this match up can't get made? Huck will end up seriously hurt.

Joyce shouldn't be part of this now,he's probably at his peak now and should be in with someone meaningful

Ruthless-RKO, I meant Joyce defending his European title against Yoka :TU:

That's a quality European title fight.

Joe Joyce's mandatory defense of the EBU heavyweight title against former cruiserweight king Marco Huck (42-5-1) goes to purse bids - again - but now with June 30 as deadline.

Their purse bids were first set for June 14 but that was apparently under the condition that the champion would make a voluntary defense of the title.

However, Joyce (12-0) will now take on Carlos Takam (39-5-1) next month with two other titles at stake.

Look for Huck to take on the highest available challenger for the vacant EBU title, while Joyce - if he gets past Takam - to fight for a world title.

Swedish light heavyweight Oscar Ahlin (21-2) will, if all works out, fight an opponent to be announced with the vacant WBA Continental title at stake on August 28 in Marbella, Spain. Ahlin won the vacant IBO Cont'l crown in his last fight and is unbeaten in his last eight fights

Bids

Marco Huck Promotions were the sole bidders at today's purse bids in Rome for Joe Joyce's mandatory defense of the EBU title against former cruiserweight king Marco Huck.

Huck Promotions bid 260,000 Euro with date and site to be announced.

Joyce will probably not lose any sleep over this and is likely to relinquish the title when the time comes. However, should he be defeated by Carlos Takam on July 24, then his interest in defending the EBU title will probably go up.

Aw crap.
Was hoping it would be, well not Huck anyway. Nothing against him, just that I think his best effort was going the distance with Breidis 4 years ago..
I'll watch it if its free. Could be worse, and Huck is probably still durable.

Huck should fight the fellow pensioner Yoan Pablo Hernandez, who has recently returned to the ring at the HW and was KOed by Kevin Johnson.

Friend of mine does some local community work in Fulham alongside a lovely old partially sighted lady called Mavel who usually joins him for a Guinness after work.
A few weeks ago on her birthday she brought her 2 sons along, one of them a boxer called Joe Joyce; my mate didn’t know who he was but said he was “a rather large chap” 😆

Joe Joyce stripped, Marco Huck set for vacant European Heavyweight title

“The Juggernaut” has failed to make a single defense since winning the vacant strap against Daniel Dubois last year. Joyce’s latest victory against Carlos Takam did not feature the belt due to the latter not being eligible.

To keep the championship in his possession, Joyce would have to face next in line Marco Huck. As the Briton had no intention of meeting the German former cruiserweight ruler, Joyce was subsequently relieved of the title.

Huck will meet the next available challenger for the blue belt at the earliest opportunity.

At present, Dillian Whyte is the number one ranked contender. It’s unlikely the “Bodysnatcher” would accept any invitation due to his impending United States debut.

Second-rated Oleksandr Usyk is already fighting for the heavyweight crown against Anthony Joshua. At the same time, third-placed Robert Helenius is also out of commission.

Helenius has agreed to fight Adam Kownacki on the Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III undercard for the second time.

Agit Kabayel, the former holder of the EBU belt, would be the favorite to oppose Huck at the moment. But should he decline, Joyce’s Olympic nemesis Tony Yoka could bid to take any fight with Huck to France to win his first major heavyweight nod?

EBU HEAVYWEIGHT RATINGS

1 Dillan WHYTE (GB)
2 Oleksandr USYK (UA)
3 Robert HELENIUS (FI)
4 Agit KABAYEL (DE)
5 Tony YOKA (FR)

7 Murat GASSIEV (RU)
8 Dereck CHISORA (GB)
9 Daniel DUBOIS (GB)
10 Umut CAMKIRAN (TK)
11 Filip HRGOVIC (HR)
12 Evgeny ROMANOV (RU)

Probably should defended against Huck tbh.
Luis Ortiz is the one Sam Jones has been talking about.

Meanwhile Huck Vs Yoka for EBU ain't bad. I assume Joyce is going to vacate the British also or be be stripped.

Wardley Gorman would be interesting.

Huck vs Kudryashov, let's do it! Two fading cruisers will make it competetive against each other. Huck against any fresh and legit heavy will be a mismatch.
