well, Canelo is a smart man. He knows very well how to speculate on the moment. This smw era is weak.

The 160 era with Golovkin, Jacobs, Canelo and Chenko was a strong mw era.

The SMW era with Smith, Plant, BJS and Benavidez is a weak era.

The LHW era with Bivol, Beterbiev and Joe Smith is a decent era.

:box:
The SMW era is more of an unproven one. The likes of Plant, Benavidez and Saunders are good, yet have been just fighting the lesser opposition. Plus, there was Smith, who was considered as the best guy, as he had won the WBSS.

The MW era is not much better now. Canelo already won Jacobs and controversially Golovkin, but Golovkin got older and worse after that, as he arguably won Derevyanchenko, who is a gatekeeper. Charlo is in the similar situation with the likes of Saunders and Benavidez. He looks good, but his resume isn't that good. So, the era isn't that rich of a great fighters. Actually, only the Charlo matchup looks really competetive there, but that's already better than with the SMW scene.

The LHW scene isn't very wide too, but its fighters are automatically more challenging for Canelo, as they are bigger. It's tough to pick with a confidence anybody over Canelo, except Bivol and Beterbiev, but that's already a more challenging situation than in the MW and SMW.

So, yes, basically Canelo picked the easiest path. It'll be interesting to see Charlo stepping up to challenge Canelo for the undisputed SMW championship or Bivol moving down for it, or Canelo stepping up to challenge either Bivol or Beterbiev.

As I said this smw era is weak and as you said unproven. BJS fought guys like Isufi, Coceres and washed up Murray in some unimpressive fights.

Callum Smith beat a damaged Groves and then pretty much Ryder exposed him.

Plant had a decent win over Uzcategui.

Nothing but a weak smw era.

Charlo is just waiting his time to fight Canelo. Imo Charlo and Benavidez should fight each other .

The mw era were GGG, Canelo , Jacobs and Chenko fought each other was a strong mw era bc the best fought the best in the division at that time.

LHW is decent bc Bivol has a few good wins and Beterbiev beat the man who beat the man.

Well, at that moment there was a stronger period, than it's now. Derev has established a sort of gatekeeper status, thus Golovkin's close win over him doesn't make GGG look that good, especially acknowledging that he returned to facing the lesser opposition. As I said, only Charlo looks threatening for the Redhead now.
apollo creed wrote: 20 Aug 2021, 10:19 LHW is decent bc Bivol has a few good wins and Beterbiev beat the man who beat the man.
Actually, Gvozdyk didn't beat the man, because after Kovalev's loss to Ward and the retirement of the least there had been established a situation, when fighters had been forced to prove themselves. Yes, Chickenson was a one of the top guys and Gvozdyk became such after beating him. So, Bivol's and Beterbiev's records look very good, but it's still unclear, who's the man there.

What I'm trying to say is that the mw era of GGG, Canelo, Jacobs and Chenko and also the LHW era of Bivol and Beterbiev are better eras in terms of competitiveness (especially the mw era) than this SMW era. :TU:

Also this smw era is a very weak era compared to S6 era or Calzaghe's smw era.

Why do you intentionally misspell Adonis Stevenson's name?

The likes of Jean Pascal, Sergey Kovalev, Marcus Browne, Sullivan Barrera, Andrzej Fonfara and Eleider Alvarez all refused to exploit opportunities that could have led them to challenge for Adonis Stevenson’s WBC 175lbs world title.

For instance, Kathy Duva passionately lobbied for Sergey Kovalev to be made the mandatory challenger for Adonis Stevenson's WBC belt, with a 50-50 purse split, which the WBC subsequently agreed to and even ordered purse bids.

And we all know for certain, unless you’re utterly clueless about boxing history, that Team Kovalev took the cowardly route, by flatly-refusing to participate in the purse bid process that Main Events originally requested.

Therefore, Sergey "Kluck Kluck" Kovalev had a guaranteed shot at Adonis Stevenson but refused to take it!!!

Do you think I’m wrong? Do you want to pretend that real-world historical events didn’t happen? Do you believe there aren’t videos of Kathy Duva confirming every single word I wrote?

I can copy/paste old hyperlinks to videos of Kathy Duvas interviews if you want to refute anything I claimed.

That’s an excellent strategy! Congratulations! I didn’t think of that.

So your ploy is to make a claim based on your existing knowledge, and whenever people expose your nonsense, you can dishonestly pretend you didn’t really mean it!

You try to cover your own back by pretending you were intentionally trying to trigger members of the forum, when others can easily prove you're talking pure utter ȿȟȉțȅ!!

So it’s a win-win situation for you! Good for you! :TU:

By the way, Sergey "Kluck Kluck" Kovalev had a guaranteed shot at Adonis Stevenson but refused to take it!!!

Plant: November 6, It's Going Down; First Undisputed Super Middleweight Champ And You're Looking At Him

“November 6th it's going down,” Plant told Fox Sports’ Heidi Androl. “First undisputed Super Middleweight of all time and you're looking at him, his name is Caleb Plant.”

“I just gotta go out there and be myself,”
insists Plant. “I feel like I’ve got every tool in the bag to make that happen.

“My downfall would be going out there and doing anything but being myself. November 6, you guys tune in. It’s gonna be a show.”
