An extreme case like this last Rigo fight makes me get philosophical about it, but in the absence of big hurtful punches landing, rounds should generally to the guy who's making his opponent fight his fight. And I wouldn't automatically score rounds for "coming forward and pressing the action" when all of a guy's big telegraphed power punches are getting blocked and dodged.
Regarding the boredom of watching a 'negative' fighter, maybe referees should tell that kinda guy that they want to see more action. Maybe even start penalizing them after a while. But if they're not doing that, and you're capable of making your opponent follow you around like a clumsy clod (e.g. Rigo-Casimero and Fury-Wilder I), why wouldn't you keep doing it? You're in there to out-fight the guy, not to worry about what social media and boxing forums are gonna say about you tomorrow.

in rigo's case, he shouldnt have kept doing it because it led to a loss, there's a simple answer. it was hardly some wildly unpredictable thing that judges went against him

anytime a fighter is extremely negative, they gotta consider that it might bite them in the ass

All of wilder's wins are fake wins over hired pbc patsies.

Fury and Arum fear losing to AJ. Losing to AJ ends Fury profit making ability. So they have to delay and dodge AJ. They have decided to go the WWF fake route by doing a business alliance with Wilder. They are using each other to promote each other. They hope AJ loses and then they can say he was nothing but a big bum. And Wilder and fury will have control of the American heavyweight market. They are waiting and hoping for AJ to lose to Usyk. If Usyk wins they will say he is a Euro bum cruiser who beat another bum. But wilder and fury will not fight AJ or Usyk.

You mean you don't want to watch him fight. What makes you an expert on what everybody else thinks?

Most boxing fans appear to like the fact he's in a lot of near even money fights, is likely to provide entertainment in spades and a win or a loss by knockout is often on the cards. What's not to like? (other than the fact that he doesn't sexually excite you in the way that Efe does, obviously)

Whyte was on the juice, after got caught red handed ? who has he beat honestly ? Oscar rivas cleary beat whyte+JUICE+hand wrape.
Even Chisora and Parker would have beaten Whyte-Juice.

Btw Efe is better than whyte in every department and already has more followers in US . He will have 220 Million Nigerian back him in a year or two.

You don't know who is juicing and who isn't so why worry about it?. You're going to look very foolish if Efe ever fails a drug test aren't you.?

You have no basis for claiming that Efe is better than Whyte in ANY department because he hasn't been tested. Whyte has fought two champions and beaten other respected world ranked fighters, whereas Ajagba has beaten nobody who even qualifies as a gatekeeper. Until Rice's stock went up after the Coffie win, you'd probably have to say Efe's best win (Mansour was finished before he fought Ajagba) was Ali Eren Demirezen. I'll bet half the people on this forum for boxing nuts, haven't a clue who that is.

He's very frustrating, that's for sure.

Every time he reaches the highest heights, he disappears to pi$$ his prime away.

Ok, we had the small matter of a pandemic that has blown up since he battered Wilder, but he could have fought at least once since.

This is how I see it too. I was a huge fan of Furys and went crazy when he beat Klitschko.
Then nothing for 3 years. Then faces a couple of stiffs
And he should of been able to squeeze in a fight in the last 20 months.

close fight, either way, etc..........did you rewatch it and see it differently?

"Rd 12 = good night irene. Another Kd. Sick the eff down. No the fvck way Fury won this.

10-8 Wilder

116-110 Wilder""
Yes, I watched it again. Yes I score most big fights real-time, on this forum. But I don’t bother searching back.

What I DO know is on the night, during the fight, the people actually posting had it far closer than those who were watching it casually while getting fornicated up.

I to this day feel Wilder won that fight. It was not the first time I have scored opposite of the consensus opinion. It will not be the last.

This was nowhere near a 3G v Canelo 1 travesty. It was nowhere near a Fox v Maestre obviously corrupt decision.

It was a close fight that could have gone either way. Fury did 0 damage to Wilder on the night. If it had been an amateur fight, I might have scored it a draw. It was not.

Consensus is generally but not always correct. That is why we are ruled by law and not a pure democracy.

What is pathetic is the continued whining and howling on the part of Fury Nutnits.
fair enough :box:
It's not really fair enough.

Ironfist, himself, has been whining and howling for years, banging the Wilder Won drum on this forum for endless pages whenever this topic comes up.

Always avoiding how he actually got to that score I might add. Now he has changed to he agrees with the Rochin card that gave Wilder 7 rounds to Fury's 5! lol

Come on now, let's be real. By the half way mark, you had Wilder up 5-1. That's an abortion of a card. But hey, I'm no better, e.g. I had Jacobs getting a draw against Canelo. Difference is, I recognize I had a stinker. Whilst, you're still going ride or die on your Wilder card. Quite frankly, I don't know how you have the energy.

Enjoy your nap.

Whilst I wouldn't want to say without knowing the facts that his excuses are illegitimate, what speaks volumes is unfortunately how his career is panning out. Whether or not circumstances have gotten in the way, Fury has yet to defend a title. An unwanted trilogy hardly whets the appetite either. Covid/no covid, Fury makes it hard to get excited about his career trajectory.

As I have said many times before, the consensus does not have an effect on my opinion of what I see in a fight.

What is humorous is that repeatedly the whiney little bitch Fury crewmembers like you defend your amateur boxing opinion of the fight by citing consensus. Then you claim that I am obsessed when I interrupt your circle jerks.

I also still stand by my opinion that Bradley defeated Pac in the first fight. I also stand by my opinion that Ward defeated Kovalev in the first fight.

In all three of those I acknowledge that there were several very close rounds and the decision could have gone the other way as a result.

The vast majority of those claiming Fury, Pac, and Kovalev won those fights refuse to even admit that they were close.

That's a lot of bait. Fury crewmember? See the post, literally above (edit, above not about) yours, where I criticise him :maybe:

Yup, yours is also an amateur boxing opinion. It's literally why people refer to the consensus when discussing questionably scored fights.

Luckily the 2nd fight had the definitive outcome that the pro-Wilder group were arguing for (kind of)

I am not a Wilder fan. Never have been.

Consensus means nothing due to the fact that it is skewed by fans and people who watched the fight out of one eye while grab assing with friends, guzzling drinks and peering at distant screens.

I score real-time, publicly on this forum. I watch the big fights more than once, disputed fights more than that, and fights that are disputed and I am not on the side of consensus as many times as necessary.

My original score was too wide for Wilder, which I have admitted several times on the forum. However, it is still my opinion that Wilder won that fight.

But, as I have stated on this forum at minimum a score of times, it was a close fight due to at least 8 rounds being very close with literally next to nothing to score. Therefore, it follows that it could have been scored either way AND a draw was acceptable.

Go ahead and keep rationalizing that the boxer who got knocked down in two separate rounds and barely through a punch of note for the entirety of the fight was robbed, proud member of The Fury Obsessed Clownhood.

And stylistically he can beat AJ absolutely I dont get the hate against fury the boxer.
You are right; he did fight very early. I was furious at his stupidity because I thought no way was he anywhere near ready to take on a puncher like Wilder, he would be crushed like a bug. What increased my anger at the stupidity was that I had no doubt that a fully fit Fury, physically and psychologically, would be too much for Deontay Wilder.

What I overlooked was that if Fury had waited until he was visibly restored to his former self with one or two meaningful wins under his belt, then there is no way he would have been granted the opportunity to fight Wilder, he'd be straight on to that shit-list of fighters to avoid like the plague alongwith Joshua, Whyte and probably a few others besides.

Credit to Fury for having the confidence to seize the opportunity when he must have known he was well short of optimum condition. The stupidity was all mine.
