You're making claims on Kinahan that haven't been substantiated. How can someone run such an organizational and have zero convictions? What innocent people have been killed? I know some innocent lads did get shot in mistaken identity which is horrific but it was mistaken identity. It wasn't like they went out to get innocent lads as far as I know but I am willing to be corrected.

If people are in the drug game then they know the lifestyle they are in. And by the way Jamie Moore was shot and almost killed and according to the papers that was meant for Kinahan. If someone has tried to shoot and kill me I would definitely take exception to it and I'm sure everyone here would do the same. And I'm only indulging in your allegations which are unsubstantiated. The man has been great for boxing and that's a fact.
That’s certainly not a fact. He’s been horrendous for boxing. Just because some fighters have taken the blood & drugs money & speak highly of him doesn’t change the real fact that Ireland isn’t having any professional boxing because of him.

He’s killing boxing over there. Unless Irish fighters are really talented & can get picked up by an American or British promoter they’re basically facing a choice of either sign with a murderer or get out of the sport.

How can a young Irish boxer ever build a following whilst Kinahan’s involved in the sport? They can’t do shows at home. Barring a few heavyweights & big names most of our boxers do well because of an initial hometown support. Imagine Warrington, Froch, Crolla, Bellew, Brook, Burns, Ritson, Coyle, Fielding etc. without hometown support. They wouldn’t have had careers like they had. They might have even drifted away from the sport.
Most Irish fighters are getting out and making a few quid on shows regularly. Yes it's terrible for the Irish public but the fighters themselves are doing OK out of it.

You speak as if it's fact that there is blood and drugs money involved. If that is the case, as far as people taking the money goes, its just human nature. They'd be the first people to come out and be against drug dealing. When it profits them they turn a blind eye and pocket the money. This is one of the things I love about it all. Totally exposes the sheer hypocrisy and true nature of some people. IF what you say about the blood and drugs money is true of course.

Ah yes the ,'Its just business don't take the bullets personally' Line, Godfatheresque, if you make money out of it, that is self-justifying

Good for boxers in the sense that he has enough heroin money to give them some coin, but the man is the head of an international drug syndicate with a body count a mile long

Promoters aren't trusted because they tend to be greedy liars, but this guy has a mixture of a love of boxing, and deep deep pockets from his drug and weapons dealing empire, he's not just a liar , he's an international gangster who has killed many innocent people, where do we draw the fornicating line? I mean they work with Saudi Arabia so of course money talks

It's a shame Katie Taylor never got to fight in Ireland in her pro career. Hearn definitely would have done it, he wanted to and it would have sold well in Dublin but for the topic of this thread.

Gerard Hutch, known as 'The Monk', has been arrested in Spain on foot of a European Arrest Warrant.

The 58-year-old is currently in Spanish custody.

It is believed he was detained in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol.

Gardaí believe he had been moving between Spain, where he has a home, and other European countries.

His extradition was sought by the Garda team in Ballymun, which has been investigating the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in Dublin in February 2016.

The 34-year-old Kinahan organised crime group member was shot dead at a boxing weigh-in by a gang of armed men dressed as gardaí.

A file on the case was submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions, who then applied to the High Court for a European Arrest Warrant for Gerard Hutch.

Gardaí believe the Regency attack was carried out by the Hutch organised crime group in retaliation for the murder of Gary Hutch, the nephew of Gerard Hutch, in Spain in September of 2015.

They also believe the target was Daniel Kinahan, the controller and manager of the Kinahan organised crime group who was at a boxing weigh in.

Kinahan and other senior gang members survived the attack, but it resulted in a dramatic escalation of the Hutch-Kinahan feud, which has so far cost 18 lives

Gerard Hutch left Ireland soon after the Regency attack and has only been seen here once since - at the funeral of his brother Eddie, another victim of the feud.

Gerard Hutch can contest his extradition or waive that right and return voluntarily to Ireland to face trial here in connection with the attack at the Regency.

Sky Sports deny dealing directly with Daniel Kinahan

Sky Sports have denied a claim by promoter Eddie Hearn that they had been negotiating with Daniel Kinahan.

In an interview with IFL TV this week, Matchroom Boxing chairman Hearn said that Kinahan had helped broker deals on behalf of a trio of fighters with the broadcaster.

Following the broadcast of the BBC Panorama documentary Boxing and the Mob earlier this year, Kinahan admitted to Talksport that he was indeed advising fighters.

Tyson Fury had sparked controversy last year by thanking the Dubliner when it appeared a deal had been done to fight Tyson Fury. The matter was even raised in the Dáil.

Kinahan has no criminal convictions but was named in the High Court in 2018 as a senior figure in organised crime on an international scale.

He is currently based in Dubai, but a Garda source recently told The Star, "There is serious work under way to get charges on him.”

Speaking ahead of Matchroom's card at Headingley, Hearn was asked about Hughie Fury [Tyson's cousin], Savannah Marshall and Lewis Ritson - all of whom had left his stable recently.

"Those three in particular [are] managed by MTK," Hearn said, "And I think their advisor Daniel [Kinahan] spoke to us and Sky and, basically, this was a massive opportunity for them."

All three fighters are on a BOXXER bill promoted for Newcastle in October, which will be broadcast by Sky Sports.

However, Sky have distanced themselves from Hearn's comments.

In a statement to The Irish Sun, Sky Sports said, "These claims are untrue.

"As a broadcaster, we are continuing to work only through our promoters to secure fights to air on television."

My guess is Sky are trying to minimise MTK’s involvement as much as possible. I believe Conlan promotions has been set up so that the Irish shows can be shown on Sky

Yea it wasn’t Conlan Boxing on the Poster at his last fight.

There was no MTK logo at all, and that wasn’t even Sky.

Next they might say to the MTK boxers that they can’t have the MTK logo on their shorts.

Matt Christie's Editor's Letter this week focusses on the ever growing influence of Daniel Kinahan in boxing.
Fair play to him for keeping this in the spotlight and he raises some interesting points but you have to wonder if Matt need to sleep with one eye open from now on?!

If Kinahan is just a boxing business man as everyone says then Christie should be alright.

In Italy, he would have been still active after getting caught in action with his supposed "buddies in crime" (it really happened with some guys affiliated with the mobs)... however, I have to admit this Kinahan guy is slier than many cunning politicians here

Look at the people in boxing. Hearn handed everything on a plate and you can get a stench of smarmyness off him. Everything built off the backs of fighters like Eubank putting his life on the line. Wazza is a G but he's been accused of not paying fighters on time amongst other things. McGuigan didn't come out looking good after the Frampton case in my opinion. I have enjoyed seeing a new force come into boxing and do the fighters right. It's been terrible for boxing in Ireland, since there hasn't been any boxing allowed in the country. People never getting to go to Croke Park to watch Katie Taylor fight is a shame. If she was headlining Croke Park it would sell out very quickly and be a great day for Irish sport.

You never hear anything about ‘the Hutches’ ruining boxing in Ireland. I’m not saying Daniel is a saint but his fighters to a man seem to like and respect him. He didn’t shoot anyone at that show, he escaped an assassination attempt.
