It will sell well - a big fight between 2 scousers tends to do well. From memory the Dodson, Quigley, Paul Smith fights sold well so I’d expect this to do the same.

Not many giving Fowler a chance! Is he that much of an outsider..... Is this fair? Fowler has only lost once to unbeaten Fitzgerald and it was a split decision ..... Surely Smith must be a little shopworn now..... he's fought at higher class of course and with credit, and whilst only 3 years older at 33, he looks about 50.... Fowler will be super up for it, fresher; you may say so will Liam due to the Scouse angle especially........ but he has talked about retirement, agreeing with Sir Eddeh Hearn that if he gets beat he will have nowhere to go and essentially admitting he will retire. This is never a good sign. So many fighters lose to lesser boxers boxers when retirement talk comes out, EG Cotto...

Bookies have Smith the marginal favourite at 4-6 which seems reasonable to me...... but Boxrec, great at calling fights, is heavily weighted towards Fowler. I have to admit I've never paid much attention to Robbie Fowler's cousin..... only watched the Fitzgerald fight with any interest. Would be interested to hear more.

We have to be careful of this, Fowler has put a lot of noses out of joint with his world champ in waiting talk and general arrogant attitude leading to a lot of people wanting to see him beat.

We have to judge fights on what we think will happen not what we want to happen.

For me Fowlers chance is early, to overrun a faded Smith. However I think that while Smith his past his best, he still has too much all round for Fowler and will win in the middle rounds.

Also remember that it is Fowlers attitude which has created so much interest in the fight.

I sat next to Fowler at the Cleverly/Bellew 2 show and he seemed to be a really nice bloke. He was still an amateur then. I don’t follow him on Twitter which apparently he doesn’t come across great on but the interviews I’ve seen are just a fighter who’s very confident in his own abilities. Not too much wrong with that although it’s not something us Brits tend to warm to.

Fowler is so disciplined and gets himself into incredible form and shape for his fights, Because of that fitness and engine, I think he will come out fast and cause Smith a few early problems, but this is a world-class fighter he's in with and he will eventually find his ryhthm and begin to battle back against the tide.

Natasha Jonas has had her next fight confirmed.

The former undisputed world lightweight title challenger has been out of action since losing to Katie Taylor back in May.

Jonas, 37, is an ex-Olympian and had previously been on Team GB before turning professional.

She was once the holder of the WBA International female title at super-featherweight and drew with Terri Harper in a challenge for the WBC and IBO crowns down at 130 pounds a year ago.

But since losing to Irish star Taylor on points over 10 rounds (96-95, 96-94 and 96-95) earlier this year, ‘Miss GB’ has been itching to get back between the ropes.

And now, after receiving the green light from promoter Eddie Hearn, Jonas can prepare to scratch the itch on October 9, exclusively live on DAZN.

She has been added to the supporting cast of the all-Liverpool affair between Liam Smith and Anthony Fowler in their home city, at the M&S Bank Arena.
