Any whispers of who is on the undercard?
You know, just in case we want a little more value for money on this ppv.

Not sure yet.
But I definitely think Plant is in way over his head, being reminded of his 3 defences reiterates that, so I wouldn't mind another fight on the card worth watching

Canelo already dodging and then countering Plant with ease.

As a Canelo fan, i am pretty disapointed by his behavior today, seems to be out of his character and it would not help to sell fight

You underestimate the casuals.
They love that stuff, Jake Paul would dine out on that for months if it was him.
But yes, I expected better of Saul. He has usually been the guy who lets his fists in the ring do his talking and I respect that a lot. Its been very rare to see him take the bait from anyone.

I don’t think it was a punch that cut him. Kinda half punch half slap half push but it whacked the frame of his sunglasses into his cheek.

Typical escalation process:

Bantering between the fighters.
Plant calls him a m'f'r
Alvarez shoves him
Plant swings
Alvarez counters

Looked like a lot of open hands. Cut caused by sunglasses.

Perfect analysis. But watch how canelo fans will say he smashed him, canelo haters will say it was a cheap shot/ assault and promoters will pretend this is the beefiest thing since a steak dinner.

:TU: It'll sell a few more tickets...at least that is what they hope for. Still think Canelo wipes the floor with him.

Canelo 10-9 after the first round. Some of the judges probably had it 10-8, as it's a Canelo fight.

Nice beef to start the pre-fight hype.

I'm not a big fan of fake theatrical WWE antics to generate hype for fights, because Caleb Plant's cut could potentially play a part in the outcome of their fight.

And to be honest, if Plant gets stopped on cuts (or is compelled to compromise his fighting style to protect the injury), then it serves him right. He reaps what he sows.

Who in the right mind initiates a fight by throwing a left hook whilst trying to look cool wearing sunglasses. It was, after all, his shades that caused the cut! FFS! :brick:

The thing is, Caleb Plant is a nice guy and so is Canelo. So anyone following the sport closely surely knows it's all fake.

Anyway, Canelo wins this fight. This silly little scuffle didn't achieve anything.

It's fake beef that Caleb started. They are both nice guys, Plant is just trying to get people to talk about the fight, and it's worked. He's added that bit of spice. Gotten under Canelo's skin a little.

I doubt the fight would get stopped on cuts If its below the eye tbh.. It's usually if it's causing a vision issue.

Still over a month out from the fight. We'll see how quick it heals.
