fury-whyte is the biggest fight fury can have any time soon, with aj and usyk tied up. vs a high rated contender who has a strong resume and is fairly big in the uk himself. fury should do it. any other contender will most likely be less accomplished and less of a draw than whyte. dont see why he should swerve it, even if fanbois want him to

it's about the best fight he can realistically have next, hopefully he doesnt do his whole schtick of running off and going inactive again. he's only made 1 title defense his whole career and that was vs a guy he'd already fought 2x and already beat.

he's a very good fighter but doesnt serve as champ very well so far. how about a good run as the champ this time. beat up dill and then the aj-uzzy 2 winner. that would tick some boxes nicely.

I had tickets for Fury vs Wlad 2, Fury v Haye, Haye v Charr and Joyce v Dubois, all of which were postponed and then cancelled or postponed and then took place with no crowd. Apart from Haye-Charr, that's a really disappointing few fights to have almost been at. What are common denominators for them? Well, take Joyce-Dubois out of it, and the other three never happened. They either had Fury or Haye involved, two fighters notoriously happy to reschedule or pull out, and all three were in Manchester.
I remember getting tickets to Fury Chisora in Manchester. Which then turned into Fury Ustinov. I had flown over to Manchester and was in accommodation when Fury Ustinov was cancelled on the day of the fight if I recall correctly.

Was sickened. The show went ahead in a mostly empty MEN arena headlined by Billy Joe Saunders Vs Blandaruma.

The highlight was drinking with Liam Williams fans from Wales beforehand. They kicked off bigtime in the arena and I think police batons were taken out and they were getting a smacking by coppers.
Welsh boys like a beer and a fight!
Definitely! Hardy bucks but sound lads at the same time they were.

Looked out for Williams results since, the fight with Eubank getting close now.

Ticket sales were poor for this supposedly. With a high prices, it's time the paying fans stop getting conned. It's not right all this shady nonsense.
I've felt this since Fury v Wlad 2 to be honest

We were in early planning discussions last night in the pub for Fury-Whyte in Manchester next year, so you know, based on my run of luck with shows up north it's not happening. :KO:

The AJ product has turned quite sour in the last year or so - his racist posts etc is quite often mentioned; and of course the loss to Usyk had the fickle casuals dropping him ASAP.

Fury could sell out a stadium now even without an undercard.

I am surprised that Fwank hasn`t made a move now Eddie has seemingly backed himself into a corner; then again - did Fwank burn his bridges previously?

If Warren come out and announces Fury was fighting at Old Trafford in April and opponent was currently TBA I believe tickets would be sold out in days.
He’s that big of a drawer these days and the pendulum has definitely swayed away from Joshua towards Fury.
Can’t help but think those racist comments were a trigger and the Usyk defeat was the pulling of it.
Fury now is massive.
I’d certainly buy a TBA ticket if I’m honest; Fury is always fun. If he turns up.

He sells an arena out not a stadium. I don’t think he’s mainstream enough.

AJ had the whole Sky machine behind him and Eddie with his knowledge of how to work social media to get the casuals on board and sell 50 / 60 / 70,000 tickets.

Tyson has the much less far reaching BT Sport and old stuck in his ways Frankie to rely on. It’s not inconceivable that a Fury / Whyte fight wouldn’t even sell out the 20k Manchester arena

I think he’d sell a stadium in his next fight but only if a decent opponent is announced.

He’s certainly extremely popular now but only a reported 300,000 bought the ppv in the U.K. Granted it was at silly am in the morning but AJ did near double that vs Ruiz and at least 3 times that against Usyk.

There was a lot more buzz between my casual fan mates pre AJ/Usyk than Wilder/Fury 3 but more talk about the Fury fight after. I’ve got a couple of mates who were pissed off with what AJ said in the BLM stuff. Didn’t stop them coming over and watching the Usyk fight though but I’m sure it put some off buying.

I’m just not sure Frank can raise the overall cash to get Fury a fight in the U.K. He’s got one fight left with Bob and I can see Bob wanting to keep Tyson on PpV over there. If Tyson’s fighting at Old Trafford then there’s no way they’ll PPV it in the US.

Fury/Whyte easily sells out the MEN. Whyte/Wallin did 12k/13k before being cancelled. If Whyte/Fury is promoted properly then it sells 50,000 tickets at least.

If it’s a co promotion and Edfie’s involved then you might get 35 / 40 k in summer at Old Trafford. If it’s BT / Frank solely then you wouldn’t get anything like that.

Your general sports fan has no idea who Whyte is. It would have to be a perfect storm to get 50k for that fight. Even Haye Chisora with all the amazing free publicity that got only did about 30k and Haye was a crossover boxer back then

Whyte shop soiled by the Povetkin ko , hard to sell a match with Fury on that. If Whyte had Ko'd Wallin then you have a selling point but not now

Most casuals won`t be bothered if Whyte has 1 or 51 losses on his record. In fact the clip of him being KO`d by that Povetkin uppercut would prob get the more excited about seeing Fury do the same to him.

The casuals who typically fill the big arenas and stadiums are going to a show, and are not bothered about fights being competitive ... they would prefer to see one guy starched.

Thats something Eddie needs to be cautious of; filling bills with women boxing could drive even the casuals away.

Whyte’s been doing c.300k buys for his recent PPVs, had 2 great fights with Chisora, a good one with AJ - he’s known by most general sports fans.

Haye/Chisora should have sold more than it did but it was poorly promoted and promoted on a random channel that a lot of people didn’t know about. Fury’s a bigger name now than Haye was then.

The bulk of the casuals don’t give a shit who’s on the card. I went to AJ/Parker and it was only Price came out for his fight with Povetkin did people leave the bars and still it was only probably 60-70% full. The vast bulk of casuals are there for the main event and that’s it.

It was on PPV for those who didn’t subscribe to BN I think - like a BN PPV.

There weren’t 40k there either - more like high 20s. It was set for 40k but a long way from selling out. I had pretty good tickets for it - got to meet Andy Murray there too which was pretty cool for me being a big tennis fan and had a photo with Bradley Saunders after his fight. Biggest memory from it was how much it pissed it down during the fight and most people were standing on their seats near us.

Given the background to the fight with the press conference brawl, it was poorly promoted. The boxers had the background, Haye was coming off a big PPV fight, Chisora was coming off Vitali and Frank also had the publicity of it not being licensed by the BBBoC.

Less than 2 years later they had almost 3 times the people at Wembley for Froch/Groves 2 and loads more paying to watch at home.

Eddie up to some dirty trucks offering Wallin an 8-fight novice as compensation for pretty much a WBC final eliminatior.
Patronising, disrespectful and downright to insulting to rub further salt into Wallin’s wounds.
AXS offering refunds… I hope everyone takes it. I know one other party of 4 who are seeking refunds.

That link’s not working pal.

I’m pretty sure they had some sort of one off PPV option for the Chisora/Haye fight - a bit like DAZN in the US where people could have bought Canelo on traditional PPV but had 6 months of DAZN after.

Even with that BN’s numbers peaked at 300,000 - similar to what Whyte gets on a PPV. Nothing crazy for what should have been a monster fight.

I’ve no idea what their subs are like in the U.K. but they’re a global business unlike BN so could well have 10s of thousands of subs in various other countries for boxing.

I’ve got a few mates that subscribe but did so for the Billy Joe/Canelo fight and are still subscribing. Also got mates that haven’t subscribed and haven’t heard of it.
