We can only hope. What has become of this sport? Just when you think it has hit rock bottom, some asshole turns up with a new improved drill to burrow still deeperoogiebe wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021, 14:25That may be true, but I can see a Ketchel/Johnson moment occurring in this one.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021, 07:09 Logan Paul asked Floyd Mayweather Jr. to go easy on him and Money May duly obliged, because he’s a professional.
Mike Tyson didn’t try to hurt Roy Jones Jr. either. He appreciated the business context of the of the exhibition he was participating in.
It was about money, not glory. Both men were working together to earn a decent payday. Nothing could be gained from inflicting pain!
So you’d have to assume that the Logan Paul and Mike Tyson exhibition will simply be a light body sparring session, but will be miss-sold to the naive gullible mainstream masses as a genuine sporting spectacle - a theatrically fake grudge match!
Neither man are ridiculous enough to treat the exhibition as a serious fight - they’re both much better, more intelligent and more professional individuals than that clown Vitor Belfort!
That said, I don’t personally enjoy watching these exhibitions, because I tend to find them quite boring, but I may subsequently decide to watch the highlights on YouTube.

The popularity of these youtube twats really tells us the state of our beloved boxing.candyslim wrote: ↑25 Oct 2021, 03:16We can only hope. What has become of this sport? It's depressing that here we have a forum dedicated to the sport which is becoming niche, which by its very nature is populated by people for whom the sport has importance (at least for the regulars) yet here we are as usual gifting this charade the oxygen of publicity.
Obviously it would be naïve to think if we on BoxRec ignored it then it would go away but it reminds me of the Aesop fable about all the trees discussing which of them is going to provide the wood so the lumberjack can repair his broken axe.

I wouldn't consider it an upset, he was shot 15 years ago, and he's an old man.gregregegg wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021, 22:46Mate mike Tyson was shit 15 years ago. He peaked early his prime was probably 30 years ago… and his style requires athleticism.adislav123 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021, 15:29gregregegg wrote: ↑23 Oct 2021, 17:54 this is a bit much for me. Although i actually cant pick a winner if a real fight breaks out. would be very sad if logan knocked out Mike.
it's obviously too late in your case, but...
never go FULL retard!
Logan is shit, but he is 220ish pounds, roided to the tits and training.
If they box in real gloves 8x 3min rounds,, and fight proper, mike getting knocked isn’t outrageous, it’s an upset result sure, but far from impossible.

After I saw Evander Holyfield KO'd by Vitor Belfort in a recent exhibition match. Id say this is a legitimate 50/50 fight.

Re: Logan Paul vs. Mike Tyson - February 2022
muscle memory of endless drills of lethal combinations ending in a knockout punch plus one or two for good measure on the opponent's way to the canvas.
still fit enough to deliver that shit with bad intentions versus a shit (non)boxer with zero evasive head movement of note and no developed heavyweight punch resilience at all.
doesn't matter one bit if paul is young, fit, 220ish and juiced tothe gills.
also doesn't mean that tyson has any business in a professional fight as an active participant anymore.
just means should they go at each other for real the you tuber would come to his senses in hospital.
it won't be a real fight anyways so whatever.

The Tyson we saw vs Roy still had something, basically carried Roy. I say MT knocks this guy out.Steven Metro wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021, 17:07 After I saw Evander Holyfield KO'd by Vitor Belfort in a recent exhibition match. Id say this is a legitimate 50/50 fight.
