Its catchweight. be a weird thing to do if both were 250lb.... but it would still be catchweight.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑23 Oct 2021, 04:10 what if two dudes, in a non wbc fight, agreed on a catchweight of 300, not hw either?![]()
But if you have a guy thats 250 and a guy thats 330, then a 300lb catchweight massivly influences the situation. one guy has to weight drain... You cant have weight limmits on heavyweight.
As for the rivas example, Do you think rivas is better cut down to 220sish or at high 230s.... i think very clearly high 230s, so, the rules of the weight had a big effect on the fight.. Had roz won, he wouldent of beat heavyweight rivas, he would of beat compromised bridger/catchweight rivas.

Wilder to 9??? seriously? His performance against Fury allied to Joshua's feeble effort against Usyk has caused me to question, maybe re-evaluate, my long held belief that Joshua beats him.
I'm voting no change but I do believe since we have no inactivity rule (which effectively means fighters are insulated from dropping out while there are still fighters below them), that twice a year we should tear up our rankings and start over. Now would seem like a good time.

Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs Wilder
wilder's obviously top 5 still
but his actual wins are pretty f@cking weak (dom and stiv among the top 3 guys he's beaten in 45 fights) and he hasn't won in 2 years.
if whyte had beaten wallin, or had ko'd pov in 1 try, i would rate him ahead of wilder now, but he didnt.

Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs Wilder
another thing is that the division seems less stratified now
we had the 'big 3' with josh, wilder, fury for a while, other guys talked about like entirely seperate being from another planet. but with wilder ko'd twice in a row/36/no wins in 2 years, and aj losing clear to usyk, they arent so clearly levels above now. usyk jumped in of course and a guy like whyte is getting shoulder to shoulder with the likes of wilder. and ruiz can still say he beat aj.
the little 'cool kids' club aint doing so well anymore
