in the long run all the shit judging is just hurting canelo's legacy.

does canelo even need the biased judging? well, the powers in charge obviously think so.

did he need them in the ggg robberies? definetly. but they will forever be a shit stain on his record.

all i hope for is a fairly judged fight. no matter the outcome.

will it happen i don't think so.

The 2nd Golovkin fight wasn't a robbery though. It was very close. Anyway, to score a dec over Canelo you need to win almost by a shotout, like Floyd.

Canelo is obviously an elite fighter, with a rare combination of explosive one punch KO power combined with very good tactical boxing ability, speed, defense, and movement. Having said that, he's been beaten by Mayweather and in my opinion also likely twice by GGG.

Caleb Plant at first glance does not seem to possess the skill or power level of Mayweather or GGG. That being said, he does have underrated boxing ability and will carry a considerable height, reach, and natural size advantage into the fight. Size is an important factor in any fight and in this fight Plant will carry that advantage. Andre Ward recently gave Plant advice to the effect of "bullying the bully" or taking the fight to Canelo. I agree with that advice and to win the fight, Plant is going to have to hurt Canelo, mount an offense, and earn the Mexican's respect. Constantly fighting on the backfoot would be a tactical mistake for Plant. I believe he should use his size and bring the fight to Canelo but intelligently.

Unlike GGG, Plant does have some powerful boxing insiders on his side (Al Haymon, etc.), so I do actually think in this fight Plant has a shot of receiving a fair decision.

Boxing sometimes comes down to styles and part of me thinks Plant may have the size and style to rattle Canelo. Plant is similar to Billy Jo Saunders, but much bigger and physically stronger.

I guess the logical prediction at the end of the day is a Canelo late round stoppage. I do think its the type of "put up or shut up" fight for Plant that every so often results in a massive upset. If Plant could pull it off, it'd be a great upset, on par with Usyk over Joshua.

Usyk's win over Joshua was in no way an upset. Plant is 7/1 underdog. Usyk was 2/1 underdog and that was only because of Joshua's power. Plenty of people picked Usyk to beat Joshua. Plant beating Canelo would be more on par with Mikey Garcia's recent loss.

I do not think Plant has a shot at stopping Canelo but I do think if he fights his very best that he has an outside shot at a split decision or close ud.

Probably true, Kiwi, but I go into every big fight with high hopes that the judges will get it right if it goes to the cards.

:maybe: We will see soon. I do not believe that Plant can stop Canelo, unless he slices him up, which is very unlikely. And I don’t think that Plant will make it to the cards if he does not make Canelo think about his power early.

I do think that Plant has the potential to put it in the judges hands if he boxes the fight of his life.

Robbery is when it has a clear winner. The 1st fight had one. The 2nd bout bout be scoed 115-113 both ways or 114-114 easily.

Don't you let those bitter sheepshaggers burst your bubble Beardie. The judges are always fair when it comes to Canelo ;-)

Usyk's win wasn't an upset for me as well. I picked Usyk over Joshua confidently.

Here I can give Plant chances, but can't really pick him.

Plant is good, not good enough to beat Canelo. I hope he will win, anyway. Like any challenger of the mexican.

Not only is there not one undercard fight that interests me, there isnt one undercard fighter that interests me.

How can you have 30-50 million for a main event and a couple of hundred grand for the other 8 fights...

I’ve been watching plenty of YouTube videos of pundits analysing Caleb Plant’s weaknesses.

They say the American is a quick starter, but tends to fade during the second half of bouts, which results in a dip of his skill levels, with his defence becoming leaky, a reduction of his speed & power, and also becoming predictable.

They also say he’s vulnerable to the overhand right hand, struggles to cope with relentless pressure and has a bad habit of resting on the ropes when he’s fatigued.

These flaws were obviously apparent during the late stages of the Jose Uzcategui bout, from round nine onwards.

Interestingly, most of these pundits were American (so they weren't biased) and they said they expected Caleb Plant to do well during the first half of the bout (at least holding his own), but will eventually fall apart during the second half of the fight.

The one notable omission from their critique was Plant’s lack of punching power. Perhaps they think he’s more heavy-handed than his resume and the proverbial eyeball test suggests?

Caleb Plant has been working with Andre Ward and Timothy Bradley expects the SOG to address most of these flaws, but I feel there’s a limit to the amount of stylistic improvements any fighter can achieve during a single training camp.

Most fighters, by the time they get to that stage of their career, aren't going to change dramatically, unless for instance their training regimen was poor and they lack fitness, or they have issues with their defensiveness technique, or footwork errors which can be corrected.

Manny Steward mainly tightened up Lewis habit of dropping his guard after he jabbed, leaving him open to counters, and encouraged him to sit down more on his punches, as well as making his style a little more compact to better protect himself. However, most of Lennox's skillset was already there.

I’ve already submitted my lengthy prediction several weeks or perhaps a couple of months ago.

Nice attempt at trolling and being unreasonably critical though.
