Re: Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Caleb Plant - November 6, 2021
Just rewatched the Mayweather fight, what a masterclass it was. Of course, Canelo was much less developed and experienced, while Eddy Reynoso was way less fat, but Plant should have learnt this bout. That's the fighting plan for a boxer with Plant's style. It's a question, if Plant is good enough and what will he do, if he gets in trouble. There's a lot of obscurity about Caleb. Today it's common to preserve young fighters with 0s for big title shots, but how are they supposed to take such challenges without experience?

Plant looks absolutely Huge, much broader than I thought.
It's hard to make a case for Plant, but it could be one of those cases where cometh the hour etc, and maybe he's better than his record and performances to date suggest.
Interesting to see.

When he tensed, he had that muscle under the armpits coming out.

Yeah, big frame too, I'd imagine he will come in a lot bigger than that too, as he looked pretty shredded, though not tight at the weight.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑06 Nov 2021, 07:11Very muscular.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑06 Nov 2021, 07:05 Plant looks absolutely Huge, much broader than I thought.

They're just lazy. For all Fury's bollocks about being a fighting man, he's just like the rest of them in that he wants to sit on his fat ass eating and drinking as much as possible. While fighting as little as possible, for the most amount of money.

Re: Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Caleb Plant - November 6, 2021
So, it was a good fight. Plant did everything he could and he was able to give Canelo the most competetive fight since Kovalev. I expected Plant to lose, but to be better than Callum Smith and BJS. He did that, although he was legitimately KOed. I thought, he could last, but Canelo is just to powerful and composed.
Plant was winning early on, he moved and boxed well, but Canelo stayed cool and he was sharpening his game gradually. Eventually, Canelo's toughness, cold mind and monstrous power prevailed. Look how Plant was hurt by a low head punch, just like BJS, as if people simply don't know how to avoid Canelo's power, they desperately bend down, try to cover, but get crushed.
I had Canelo up 96-94 before the KO round. Two judges were doing good, the remaining one was robbing Plant. No way it was 98-92. Plant was working and scoring more early in the fight.
Canelo's path has been great. He must continue this way. It'll be good to see him defending against someone worthy, like Benavidez or Charlo. If not, he must move up and challenge the LHW belts again.

Not being funny, but is that some kind of record for a P4P No 1 Boxers ?
Off the top of my head I don't recall any previous P4P No 1 ever taking 4 fights in a year at this stage of their career.
Re: Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Caleb Plant - November 6, 2021
Canelo should keep his activity and quality of opposition up. Benavidez is a quite obvious option for the next bout. The Charlo fight sounds awesome for me, but Charlo seems to be a hard fighter to get deal with, too pretentious. Any of the LHW champs will take the Canelo challenge easier.

Plant has the tools to cause all kind of troubles to Canelo. But fights with Feigenbutz, Lee and Truax wont prepare you for Alvarez. Still, he put on good performance and ive became Plant fan
Canelo vs CHarlo and Benavidez is what i wanna to see. People calling for Beterbiev fight cause they wanna see Canelo lose.
