Re: Round-by-Round: Lyndon Arthur vs. Anthony Yarde II - 4 December 2021
Yea but that means nothing to me. Arthurs temperment is like a stoner chewing on sleeping pills, i could see him acting that way weather he wanted to continue or not. Not saying it was wrong it was stopped, im saying the prosess was wrong, didnt count him out, didnt ask if he wanted to continue, just waved it. Arthur deserved to make a call or continue.. was aware and on a knee waiting to stand up at 2 in the count, got up at 8 in the count and then ref just waved it. Looked steddy walking back to his corner too.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 19:33Then he went straight to his corner and sat down.gregregegg wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 19:31Stood up at 8 didnt he? then ref waved it without even asking a question or getting to 10. It looks like he quit because he didnt protest, but arthurs temperament is that to just wonder off aimlessly, he is weirdly unphased by anything.
Yarde had just thrown a lot of heat, arthur was hurt, but hurt isnt the end of the world if yarde has to regroup and catch his breath.

Yes, but he'll get a load of exciting early KOs too !Enlightened-One wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 19:43 I’m not sure what to think about that fight.
Arthur appeared to have quit. Maybe he had a bad training camp or maybe he was lucky in the first fight?
Yarde looked very amateurish and attacked with reckless abandon. He couldn’t have maintained that pace.
And Yarde isn’t the most skilful of boxers either, and I think he knows this, hence the reason why he went all guns blazing trying to physically overwhelm Arthur.
The thing is, if you’ve ever watched the Benn-Watson or Honeyghan-Starling bouts, Yarde will eventually come undone when he faces a disciplined world-class defensively responsible opponent.

Arthur gave up very quickly it's hard to argue, wanted out almost immediately when he took a barrage of shots. He made that count, as quick as it was and could have continued
Looks like he quit under the first bit of pressure

Ref knew Yarde couldn’t keep this pace up.
Finished it early.

Happy for Anthony, at least he brings some fire even when he is getting outboxed.

He had no choice. He got hit hard wasn’t right had no real legs and sheeraz is big…Stevie wonder could of foreseen that. I feel sorry for skeete and actually backed him at 8/1, hamza has very slow feet and a limited repitoirre.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 18:59 Dom should have prepared Skeete for fighting while hurt. Why the hell was he getting into exchanges at that point.
Not a problem with rough n tumble in boxing it’s a fight, but hitting someone when they are down or not looking in a clinch etc…that’s not only honor less it’s downright dangerous. Instant dq for me.
I guess hamzas thousands of family members ticket sales will continue his run, but that’s all he’s bringing to the table, certain styles as u saw last night will expose him in future one sided fights

Despite being given the win, he was exposed really and this will have a big impact on how he is matched.Offthehook wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 05:52He had no choice. Expect the usual suspects for the WBO European, then he will get thrown to the lions and retire.

Yarde was gonna win but that shaky ref bolloxed it up, I’ve seen him f**ck things up before, he’s about as reliable as IJL. Up at 8, no questions, then calls it a count out …nonsense.
I think Fletch is a very decent commentator - much better than Rawlings

Re: Round-by-Round: Lyndon Arthur vs. Anthony Yarde II - 4 December 2021
You do everything other than what he was doing when hurt. Winging arm punches in extended exchanges when hurt is just asking to be KO'd. Run around the ring, jump into clinches, hold until you get a point deducted, lose your gumshield etc. Skeete has none of that. It was a disgusting foul by Sheeraz. Absolutely no excuse and I think the frustration of being given a bit of a lesson from Skeete showed.Offthehook wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 05:52He had no choice. Just watched it again , really odd ending to the fight .
Arthur looked fully with it whilst taking a one , why wave it off and no protest ??

ref was a joke but did protesting ever make a ref say 'ok, then let's go again'? ever?
seriously. would he even be allowed to take back the waive off?
