I would like to see Benn in with a fighter with true ambition- not the Broner, Brook or Khans of this world

Essuman's a great shout, but like Buatsi-Yarde, it's a natural fight no-one's rushing to make.

Exactly that, and I agree on Spence moving to 154 soon. I think that happens after Crawford if they meet next year, regardless of the outcome. Might even be a 150 catchweight.

Fxck sake Blanca mate your banging on like Algieri is some roadman who gets beat up on a regular basis, aye he's 37 but he's extremely fit, came in here in terrific shape and had still only lost to Pacquiao, Spence and Khan, Benn's bypassed British level with limited amateur experience and unthinkable pressure, it's another solid win for him and he takes the next step, the fact that you think this is a gross mismatch suggests your high on the Benn train eh??
To be fair, Algieri might well have a few more losses on his record if he hadn’t been effectively retired for 2 years before fighting Benn

Unfortunately we won’t see him tested for most of next year. I’m certain it’ll be a non-puncher in March-April time & then they’ll want the Khan-Brook winner late summer.

I can’t blame him or Hearn for going that route, they’ll make a lot of money but I want to see good fights. I couldn’t care less whether Conor Benn’s making a fortune or not as he isn’t giving me a cut.

Conor Benn continues to improve. Fair play given the, erm, rocky start to his career.
Katie Taylor just seems to be deteriorating with each fight now. The rapid flurries that were a hallmark just weren't there tonight bar odd one or two. Has had three very underwhelming performances on the trot now. The Serrano fight could go very badly wrong

Look Conor Benn's development has been an absolute feat. With little or no amateur experience he has got himself to where he has through real hard work, determination and belief. That's difficult enough when you have the weight of expectation/comparison of a British boxing legend as his father.

He's on the fringe of world class as he 'bankrolls' top billing but there will be more serious challenges for him to prove he is world class. Then there is the elite beyond that.

Good luck to him and hope he earns well and holds on to most of what he has deservedly earned. :TU:

Conor has improved a lot, that KO was a piece of art and showed good defense. He will get his shot for the better or the worse, but I don't see him beating any welterweight world champion as of now.

He is gradually getting better. The head movement tonight was really good, haven't seen him do that so well in the past. If he was stagnating, I would agree with you.
I think he will be ready and competitive in a title fight, just not in '22.
Maybe another 2-3 careful match ups away.

Great finishing right hand by Benn, what he still needs to work on is defense, his right hand is carried so low, and going back in a straight line.
But enjoyed watching him last night

Benn could wait for Crawford to retire and still be in his prime, but I think he's better off trying to catch Bud coming down the hill, before Ortiz or Ennis replace him. Dunno what's happening with Spence.

So long as Ugas doesn't lose in the next year, that's a great target for Benn. Starting with Broner or Hooker for US coverage, and then the Khan-Brook winner in summer.
The obvious thing to do business wishes and in terms of bringing Benn on.
Then make Crawford in 18 months time.
Even if he slips up against a Broner or a Khan he will still be in the mix. Benn is always in exciting fights and losing in exciting fights often open doors too.
Terrance would hurt him.

i can’t see khan or brook fighting benn the risk/reward factor isnt worth it for them , surely
avanesyan would be a great fight to make, apologies if someone has already suggested this

Ava is a solid European champion who is capable of picking up the hanging fruit on the world title tree.
Benn is being sold as a world champion in waiting so by that reckoning Ava is a step backwards.
Nevertheless Benn hasn't beaten anyone as good as Ava yet so it's a no win situation.
A backward step where he might lose in a fight which doesn't generate money.
Whereas on paper they sold Algeri as a better fighter, ex world champ, lost on points to Pac and Khan, only stopped by Spence, while the reality is that Ava would be a strong favourite against the American.

I hope Ava gets a world title shot next. Even with a World title there will be excuses from Benns camp.

If it was a world title fight against Ava I'm sure he would take it.
You aren't going to get the likes of Algeri for a vacant shot, prob not Broner either.

Ava having a world title belt makes it a much bigger fight. It’s a high risk/low reward fight at the moment.

Fighting Broner is easier and commercially a far far bigger fight than Avanesyan.
