For your average person it wont do a lot. But in business it opens a lot of doors.
Friend of mine got one of the lower MBE trinkets when he left the MET. He only ever worked for the Police .. yet opened up a consultancy business and earns very good money training Local Authority front line social care staff and NHS frontline health staff best work practices. As said he only ever worked for the Police and he has zero knowledge of social or health work processes or practices.

The MBE gets him the contracts no doubt.

My uncle had an MBE. Not entirely sure it did his career any good by the time he had it.

Yeah - it massively helps from a business perspective in opening doors. Someone I used to work with got one primarily because her sponsor for it was an extremely wealthy Tory donor. She was good at business but it opened up massive doors for her afterwards.

maybe he doesnt even care about honours, unlike some...
he didn't want SPOTY so can hardly see him wanting an MBE/OBE either
To be fair SPOTY doesn't carry anything like the prestige of receiving an honour, SPOTY is just a tacky ceremony that the BBC deem a major event in the sporting calendar, it's also biased towards certain sports as well.
I know that, just saying if he didn't want sports fans voting for him then he won't want a few men in suits saying if he should have an award or not.

The Honours system is a load of bullshit to be frank although I'm not British so doesn't concern me.

But if Tony Blair can get a knighthood and Jimmy Saville well then that says it all.

what?

An arbitration judge awarded wilder the 3rd fight because of a rematch clause not being honoured by team Fury, it wasn't mandated by the wbc.

I haven't read the whole thread but I agree with this. What does an honour from the Queen really mean? The Royals aren't exactly the sort of people you need to get an honour from. Their credibility diminishes day by day. You really want Prince Andrew's Mum to say she officially likes you?

I quite like the Queen but once she pops her clogs the monarchy is toast. I give them one generation, maybe two at most. The English might stick Charles and then Andrew, but they're going to have to hard on the PR. I can't see them lasting. A knighthood by that bunch might be looked at as a borderline insult in the near future if anything?

Fury wouldn't lose any fans by telling them to stick it.

Lot of truth in this thread, the people handing out the honours are dirty rotten scumbags, and Fury boasts about his friendships with a group of other dirty rotten scumbags and acts like one himself when he forgets to play up the mental health hero act (Thanks Daniel Kinahan!!)

So who cares??

Jump in to bed with a monster you might wake up with worse than fleas, Daniel is not as smart as his old man he's overexposed himself with the mass murders and hitting soft targets, he drew far too much attention with the Hutch stuff , lost a bit of control in Dublin as the rats are starting to gather while the cat hides in Dubai. One of the boyos who was big in for Kinahan in Dublin recently had his young designer pup stolen by rivals and there's a viral video of the rather nasty looking guy in a fancy car gripping the dog by neck and holding it up with a pretty malicious look on his face, he wasn't blurred.

These guys will all turn on eachother eventually, greed, youngsters coming up, informing, just reckless ruthless ambition with too much fornicating money at stake

The amount of these guys who have double crossed eachother , the acts of brutality they take part in to allow them to flood the streets with heroin and poison ,makes Game of Thrones look like Peppa Pig.

I thought the main reason Fury never made the list is because he's not a nonce or a mass murderer

Found this about the Kinehan dealer who's fancy dog got stolen , yep, he's pretty much fucked, his mates have either turned tout or been killed

"Mr Flashy’ is a gangster in Dublin who formed the 'Gucci Gang'. Reports say it is no more as key members have either been arrested or are dead. The mob boss fell out with the Kinahan cartel after repeated gang feuds. His former bosses in the Kinahan gang sent a hitman to Ireland to kill him. ‘Mr Flashy’ was handed a Garda Information Message (GIM) - a form officially notifying him of a credible threat to his life. Once one of Dublin’s most dangerous criminals, Flashy is said to be hiding from a rival gang, using street kids to do his work, and is effectively alone. The gang feuds have sparked at least half a dozen violent incidents in Dublin."

Mate this kind of stuff is happening in every city in every country on earth, bar maybe Dubai and Singapore, where nothing of the sort is tolerated.

It’s not the Kinahans, it’s humans. Boxing has always had dangerous people involved, from Oweney Madden to Don King. It’s nothing to get worked up about.

Nobody is saying it's special mate lol but Don King isn't actively the top drug dealer in Europe involved in a feud that's killed over 30 people, kinda different levels

We aren't arguing about Owney Madden or Frank Costello or dead hoods everybody knows were gangsters,, we are talking about a guy who people still argue is a "legitimate businessman"

Youve missed the point entirely

Like we seriously have to sit and listen to boxers talk to that runt James English and all claim with a straight face that it's not that Daniel Kinahan is a dirtball knee deep in drugs and murder , it's that people are "jealous" and the "media" and "establishment" need somebody to hate

Here we go with the Robin Hood whitewashing

It's not a competition between Kinehan and the establishment, both can be rotten
