Hilarious that a fight for a heavyweight title becomes a game of economics among the fans. Ludicrous sport, with absolutely delusional participants.

Is there another sport this badly run?

5m for White was more than enough. He’s pretty shite in the grand scheme and got KOd brutally recently. He needs a slap letting this drag on. Fury is very beatable right now. He should be training hard and taking his chance. Instead he’s priced himself out the fight.

Why? If he pulls out of purse bids then criticise but he’s not doing anything wrong by turning down an offer to go to purse bids. Hundreds of fighters have done that in the past.

He wants to go to purse bids which I’ve no problem with.

The WBC have completely messed around with things. Calling for the fight whilst in arbitration, no mentioning purse splits, then saying purse splits, then delaying the date of bids.

Rubbish! Am a huge Fury fan and will be mightily pissed off if it's anyone but Whyte in the other corner come March 26, his shot is long overdue. He simply needs to wake up and accept he's never getting a 10m guarantee for this fight and negotiate on a more realistic footing.

I agree, fvck Whyte, cause he demands too much for his a$$, which has been kicked 2 fights ago. And which gets wobbled nearly in every his fight.

He seems to want purse bids and roll the dice which he’s allowed. It’s the benefit of being mandatory and there’s nothing at all wrong with that with me.

The WBC have caused the delays and if Bob will only let Tyson fight on his show then he should either offer more or win the purse bid.

is 80-20 split confirmed for the purse bids?

If that's the case, shouldn't Whyte just accept £5m/$5m guaranteed and whatever the PPV % would be.

Whyte needs to accept, for the first time, since he fought AJ, maybe barring the Parker which was probably 50-50 (and he probably still got lions share in the Povetkin rematch too), he's not the A side.

Need to see what plays out, then I will throw out my 'Fvck you' to the right person.

Maybe Whyte, Fury, Hearn, Warren, Arum,.. Maybe it' will be the WBC or just boxing in general.

The WBC have ordered a 80/20 split so unless that changes then that’s how the purses will be split.

He’s been offered £5m or $5m - not sure which - and a % of PPV - no idea if PPV numbers have to be over a certain amount before his % will be worth anything. Whyte doesn’t need to do anything as he doesn’t have to accept it. Eddie may be saying to him ‘my purse bid will be worth £Xm more than your offer so go to purse bids and you’ll get at least this.

AJ dealt with loads of mandatories (financially not actually beating them in Usyk’s case) and managed to sort them. Each one of them could have gone to purse bids.

Same with Klitschko. The only guy I think that didn’t accept an offer was Povetkin who had a big backer so Wlad got 75% of $23m at the purse bid and then hammered Povetkin.

For Whyte to get £5m/$5m from a purse bid, it needs to be a winning bid of at least £25m/$25m. If Hearn is going to bid that amount then what's the point?

If Hearn's gonna bid £/$30. then fair enough. But even then it's on £/$6m.

For every £/$1m Whyte gets, Fury will be getting £/$4m won't he?

Yeah.

As I said previously I’d be surprised if the winning bid for this is less than $35m and Eddie needs a big fight to get DAZN PPV launched and people talking about/registering with DAZN.

If they can combine that with a big site fee from Saudi then it’s fairly big money.

Tyson Fury v Dillian Whyte: Eddie Hearn says purse bids set for Friday but March date 'unrealistic'

Tyson Fury v Dillian Whyte is unlikely to happen in March with the purse bids now set for Friday, according to Eddie Hearn.

Mandatory challenger Whyte has been unable to agree to terms with Fury after the WBC ordered an 80/20 purse split in favour of the reigning champion.

Speaking to the 5 Live Boxing podcast, Hearn said: "People keep talking about March dates - that's starting to look unrealistic for a fight of this magnitude."

Fury's co-promoter allegedly told BBC Sport last week that the targeted date was 26 March, but Hearn says April is far more likely.

"Either March, April, early May potentially," added Hearn. "This is the window for the fight. Depends what happens this week.

"There are so many conversations going on behind the scenes right now. Something could turn at any moment."

Whyte, 33, is currently in a dispute with the sanctioning body WBC after their purse-split announcement and also the time it took for the British heavyweight to receive his shot at the world title.

Hearn, who works with Whyte, says despite the disagreements between the two camps and the WBC, the fight will still go ahead.

"You're talking about a lot of money - a difference of 25%," Hearn said about the issue.

"The normal split for any mandatory challenger is a lot more than 80/20. The normal split for an interim champion is up to 45%. We feel in terms of the commercial value of Dillian Whyte and the time he's had to wait, 80/20 is quite ridiculous really."

He added: "[It] looks like Dillian Whyte will definitely get his shot at the WBC title, but we have to fight for his rights and make sure it's fair. It's not going to stand in the way of the fight."

1 fight in 4 years for Charr. It’s amazing that Bob’s even mentioned him as a possibility.

Normally promoters mention a few fighters and it’s usually the worst fighter in the list that gets the fight. Perhaps Bob has thrown Charr into the mix so people are happy if he faces Helenius. Who knows.
