Really ? I would have thought it would have a major impact on what he does next .
Thought it was a final eliminator ?

disagree, for me it was all dj first half and then clear 12th, with some other arguable rounds you could give him. i dont see how he didnt win at least 6 for a draw at absolute worst. i had it 8-4gregregegg wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022, 19:27 I can see it, its questionable no doubt, But its not one of those unanswerable robberys... As i said i would of guessed jacobs nicked it, but i can give ryder 6-12 (i didnt judge, but it is within the realms of possible). And the first round was close so that could definatly go ryders way.

Nope just a pointless eliminator. He can still get a SM belt shot in his next two fights. John Ryder already had the ranking.
Nobody is going to class that as a defeat for Jacobs.

Jacobs for me, it was scrappy in the last few rounds, but that doesn't mean they all went to Ryder.

nor do i , iam just saying if judges were watching there was times that danny looked out on his feetGrilling Machine wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022, 19:28Can't score hurt above 10-9, though, can you. I felt Ryder needed a knockdown in the 12th to draw.

Dont think the 1st and 12th were so clear that they cant go the other way sometimes. My guess is thats where its happened.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022, 19:34disagree, for me it was all dj first half and then clear 12th, with some other arguable rounds you could give him. i dont see how he didnt win at least 6 for a draw at absolute worst. i had it 8-4gregregegg wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022, 19:27 I can see it, its questionable no doubt, But its not one of those unanswerable robberys... I probably (didnt actualy judge) had it 10-10 first, then 5 rounds jacobs, then 5 rounds ryder, then close 12th round jacobs.... But i could see how that first and 12th could go Ryder way, I would disagree but not enough to be outraged...
Its ultimently a close fight. I think Jacobs only really clearly won the 2nd and 3rd, as i said befor i gave him 6 or 7 rounds, but they were the only 2 that were a lock, every other round could potentially be judged the other way by someone sitting with a different view.
I think the bad look for UK boxing is how predictable it was.

jacobs only clearly won 2 and 3....so you should be okay with an 118-110 card for ryder then?

Re: Round-by-Round: Daniel Jacobs vs. John Ryder - 12 February 2022
Just prior the championship rounds there was a strong feeling of Jacobs needing to hold on, so I get what you're saying, but then Ryder wasn't able to capitalise and reverse the deficit.
At the end of the 10th it felt like he had a great turnaround shout, but another big round didn't come, and Jacobs finished on par with him.
Re: Round-by-Round: Daniel Jacobs vs. John Ryder - 12 February 2022
it was a close fight not like jacobs came here and steam rolled rds, lets face it in the whole of boxing history when you go to a fighters home you have to bash them up, he didnt do that, i thought personaly he knicked enough rds to win, but also jacobs was also the only fighter that looked out on his feet in the fight, it was close ,

Personally had it 9-3 to Jacobs but there were a good few of those it could have gone to Ryder.
Thought Ryder at best could have been given a draw.
It's not an absolute robbery though, and he's been on the wrong side of some bad decisions (not that it makes this on right!)

Re: Round-by-Round: Daniel Jacobs vs. John Ryder - 12 February 2022
i guess it depends on what you call a robbery
it wasnt some domination job--the fight was competitive. but for me jacobs absolutely shouldve gotten 6 rounds minimum , so it's not an 'either way' result for me even if you give ryder all the close rounds.

I’m a bit happy for Ryder. People were rooting for him after he was done over against Smith, but two wrongs don’t make a right.
Jacobs won that for me 116-112.
At worst 115-113.
Obvious hometown decision.

Who’s gonna wanna come over after that?
Wasn’t the best fight either tbh. I just can’t get into Jacob’s fights.
