Similar to RJJ I suppose, just on a lower level - no-one really knew how bad his chin was until he slowed down in later years and became victim of multiple highlight reel ko’s.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying he’s Antonio Margarito but “appalling” I can’t agree with.
Appalling means it stops you getting to domestic level.
If it was appalling his career stops forever vs Michael Gomez.
People like Larry Oluwambiwo and Tom Little have appalling chins. Maybe add Enzo Mac and crazy Audley into that at a higher level.
Amir Khan does not have a good chin. It’s just better than terrible in my opinion.

it's a weak chin for sure imo, but it's not at the absolute lowest level where he can't take anything, and his recovery + movement when hurt is good and helps keep him protected

i do think khan gets beaten up tonight, but there's that 'will brook's face fall apart' question mark. i think probably not.
Yeah can’t really argue at that.

Well to be fair, Larry O and Tom Little didn’t quite have the handspeed or movement of Amir

Khan’s not been a Floyd during his career. He’s been hit shit loads by quality operators.
Appalling chin means that once you get hit hard, you’re getting stopped.

I know guys who have had bad chins. A bloke from Scarborough, Chris Hooper, was a good amateur and finished with a 7-7 record. The board pulled him in because his losses were nearly all by ko. He just got chinned! Yet they'll let journeymen take 100's of losses if they know what they are doing. Harry Matthews was known for one of the best chins in the Journeyman business but has started losing frequently inside the distance. I do worry about that for Kell. Some people have their chin cracked.

Talksport have the radio coverage for this, if anyone isn’t buying and can’t be bothered trying to find a stream.

Does anyone know what time Khan/ Brook will enter the ring?

I'm out tonight and want to catch the main event only.

There’s a chance of that but could also be he did the weight wrong so was more susceptible.

I’m buzzing for it now.

I just saw online that there's a pub showing the main event up the road.

See if I can be bothered. Last time I watched boxing there, it was packed. And I'd end up spending the £20 on beer anyway.

Surely it’s worth £20 of any one’s money to avoid listening to Gareth A Davies.

But then you’d have to listen to Adam Smith. Out of the frying pan into the fire.

Wish I had ringside seat money so I didn’t have to listen to any of em

i mean, billy dib counts as a former world champ so a lot of those numbers only mean so much. the amateurs im not really considering
I never used the word great at all. I don’t think we have all too many greats but he deserves top 10 in my opinion.
I’m definitely curious to see your top 10 though.
Top 10 hmmm, does Lennox count as British (serious Q, he learnt his trade in Canada)

But Lennox, Fury, Calzaghe, Hamed would be tier 1 for me

Tier 2 in no order would be Honeyghan, Turpin, Joshua, Eubank, Benn, Conteh, McGuigan, Hatton, Buchannon, Haye, Froch, Duke McKenzine, Minter.

Then you have guys like Watson who beat Benn and deserved a win over Eubank. You have Witter who imo was better than Hatton. You have Bomber Graham who was 1 of the most skilled Britain produced.

I'm probably forgetting some and ignoring the days of Bob Fitzsimmons

I'd probably put Khan on par with Brook. How that fits with boxers of the past, when there was less belts and you had to beat the best in the division I'm genuinely unsure.

I’m not sure what to do. The undercard is gash. Khan could be in terrible form, Brook is anything but durable himself. It just doesn’t feel like a significant, big night of boxing.

But then just maybe this main event could be a mini classic somehow…

That was my dilemma.

Not buying it.

Might wonder down the pub showing the main event or listen to the radio. Might not bother.
