Crawford fight?
Befuddled with his corner telling him to stay down…just look at his past record - taking it to Canelo ffs, meanwhile brave braggarts like Eubank & co call em out but run a mile when it’s showtime

Really ? I thought Kell showed genuine warmth towards him. He applauded him in when he arrived, spoke glowingly about his career and then warmly embraced him at the end even giving him a peck on the cheek

Good post.
I remember people genuinely thinking Marcus Maidana would kill him, too.

Before Khan showed up Brook was scoffing at the idea of going for a coffee with Khan. He was respectful to him when he showed up but no way are they being mates.

Khan had a good career.

When it comes to Brook though, people have short memories. He did berate Brook about his boxing skills along with a host of other things including needing a title. The list went on and on. He clearly thought himself way better than Brook.

He also avoided the fight for too long. Ironically he might have had a better chance if he'd taken it when they where both with Matchroom.

TheLeprechaun wrote: 22 Feb 2022, 20:20 He was just selling the fight. I'm amazed that boxing fans still buy into it. You could see Kell was fighting for his life in the interviews but Khan was just messing around. I don't think he had anything personal at all towards Kell and was just having fun promoting the fight and ensuring he made the most money possible.
Exactly, just hyping the fight, more interesting than hey I respect Kell and the lord my saviour and hope it’s a good fight etc etc

The Josh Taylor fight would be getting a lot more publicity this week if Cat Man jack wasn’t just making up the numbers in the pre-fight talk, dull dull DULL. I might even start giving the man a chance seeing as I was taken in by Khan’s schtick
He wasn't selling or hyping the fight a decade ago or when he was accusing him of being gay 3 years ago. The only reason the fight happened eventually was Kell's poor performance v Crawford.

When was 140 division created?

Surely after the 80’s?

Khan has a long history of delusion and he genuinely believed Brook was there for the taking, and that he had the skills to do it. His overbearing arrogance in the buildup meant that if he failed to deliver on his big talk it would be particularly embarrassing.
Billy Tully wrote: 19 Feb 2022, 05:51All through the evening Sky will be replaying those various clips of Khan smirking condescendingly at Kell, calling him jealous, boasting about schooling him in a teenage spar. He really needs to deliver tonight or its going to be a clickbait 'When trash talkers get their come uppance' YT clip with hundreds of millions of views for the rest of his life.
I don't think Khan was too fussed about losing. He's coming off quitting vs Crawford and being all over the place vs Vargas several times. He's at the stage now where he's cashing out. I don't think he would have beat Brook in his prime anyway. This felt like Khan was taking the fight for money. It was a fight he never wanted until the end of his career as a final cash out. Khan is not going to lose any sleep over losing. Kell was treating it like an undisputed title fight and doesn't like Khan. I agree with you there. Khan however just seemed to be taking the p*ss out of Brook during the build up and making him wait a decade for the fight with ridiculous excuses was another example of Khan taking the p*ss out of him. Khan fought him when he had virtually nowhere to go for a payday. Khan isn't announcing his retirement quite yet just in case another Saudi offer comes in. He's in total cash out mode.

Come on, we're not kids in the playground.

Trash talk is 99% pantomime. These are professional prize fighters. If they can pump their earnings they'll say anything. And they all have to get their head into fight mode.

Nobody cares what Khan or Brook said.

Why should he? He's not the first person to say it.
