I’m sorry it’s fair enough to ask questions. There are a lot of scams around. I once gave £50 to help someone and it was revealed days later as a total scam. It was in the papers. I never got the money back.
And this sounds well dodgy. Just cos he’s a boxing person doesn’t mean he’s trustworthy.

Why would you say its dodgy. You think amir Khan would send me a grand if he thought i was dodgy ! All the people that have donated know me. Because you got scammed. Don't tarnish others. Many people have my details to contact me.. I raised a lot for my diabetes uk charity fight. So its not that i have given so much to others. You dont know me. Anyone that has net me. Will tell you about me..

Has a diabetic , i thank you for your fundraising efforts , i'm on 3 tablets and 4 injections a day plus a weekly injection , I also know diabetes is not has bad has most make out , in fact the more you work and excercise with it the better it gets , mostly its a lazy persons desease , lack of excecise too much weight ect , but you would know that .

But i think you would of got a lot better response if you had a help me get a job page , reached out for work instead of money to pay the rent you should of been paying ,, shout out on the lines of my names Eric a lot of you know me , you know i've boxed and therefore am reasonably fit and strong ,, i'm also desperate for a job , covid hit me hard and my family are in financial difficulties , i really need to get myself out of this financial mess ,, don't want handouts i need a job , i'll do anything has long has it pays , need your gutters cleaned , need your lawns mowed , want someone to labor on the building site , want a nightwatchman for your building site , i'm your man , don't want charity I NEED A JOB , Thanks in advance hopefully someone out there will need a good worker

Eric is 61 years old, not particularly well and you expect him to be able to take on hard physical work to do what? If it's to pay off debts, the system has never allowed the unemployed to make their own way without it impacting on the benefits they receive.

No they dont. Universal credit pays a certain amount of rent. And as my wife works. They take that into account. Sometimes uc paid nothing!!. So could not afford some of the rent or council tax during covid.. And 28 months add up hope that explains why i am in this situation .

Eric is also fit enough to spar andd if he got a job would,nt be unemployed in any case he said he does,nt recieve any benefits because his wife works so income will not effect unemployment benefits he does,nt get any , and diabetes is,nt a medical thing that affects you working i know i,m a severe diabetic it nevr stopped me working in fact work helped keep it under control and in any case who said get a hard physical job , years ago i could,nt do my hard physical work after a bad accident , so i went taxi driving guess what within 2 years i owned two taxis , . Unfortunatly he does,nt live near me , but if he did i would get him a job , but would,nt give hand outs ,

Any way i,m comming across has somone with no empathy or sympathy for otheer people and don,t mean to , i wish Eric the best and hope he gets out of the mess he,s in ,, but ultimatly its a job he needs so he can pay his way , not handluts they only last a short time Anyone out there who can help i urge you to try help him get a job , it will certainly help with the self esteem and mental health issues

If debt problems then what we typically recommend is contacting Citizen Advise Bureau (CAB).
They can help contacting debtors (especially regarding your legal rights) and budgeting. They can also (if eligible) apply for a debt relief order .. which can clear 85% of monies owed.

Social worker in Wales here, so things may be called something different in England, but CAB will be able to decipher that for you.

Unfortunately, people who have worked all all of their lives usually struggle with the benefits system. People on them must of their lives, dont. Its extremely difficult to get social housing round here. Impossible if you have a job. I know loads with flats, houses, on full uc and pip, foodbanks... and there is nothing wrong with them. Go the mental health route with the doctors if you blame physical problems, you won't get an appointment. If you get an interview for extra money, lie through your back teeth. Please don't say you can spar!

CAB are very good. Another alternative is Step Change. They’re also a free debt charity. Always worth getting second opinions after speaking to CAB.

Very kind of Tom to donate his money to your cause but I don't think you're going to rate highly in many people's eyes as a worthy charity project. Charity has to come to the heart and though I do donate to charitable causes and like to help out when I can - it's an individual choice on who I donate to and who I don't. (And as Mick stated, some people on here might be in as bad or even a worse situation than you).

Saying that, I hope you get your housing situation sorted out and climb out of your mountain of debt, I wish you well with it all.

I also lost my job during covid, now currently claiming universal credit, ive also fell behind with my rent & council tax, help me out lads...

Personally I think his arrears shouldnt have got to that level, his wife should have paid it out of her wages...

A giffgaff bundle is much cheaper than a payg.
Get an advanced payment on uc, say you've broken your washer, put in for a silly amount, you'll get one if you don't already owe on one. Pay back interest free about £25 a week. £80 of that for a fully loaded firestick..
The fact Eric worked in boxing should have sorted him out in the last week. He's known Bunce years who's spent the last two weeks with Fury and then Taylor at al and now he's in Vegas. A few signed gloves, posters, programmes, job done. Maybe send a bucket round the press conference for the postage.

Cmon man,Eric sounds like a proud man,he has been down all avenues to try and sort something out I doubt he really wanted to end up setting up a page for people to donate to him. That is exactly what would happen if you went into any sort of debt plan. Your outgoings would be under the microscope and you’d be justifying every single penny you spent.

I agree with you Gman,I don't really know know Eric,I have asked him stuff in the past and he always answers and I know I wouldn't want my money struggles to be talked about on a boxing forum so it must be tough for the man to even read about it on here,like Gman says,contibute if you want and if you don't then so be it,but don't question the mans lifestyle,none of us on here are angels I'm sure,good luck Eric and I hope you sort things asap.
