Glen does have a bit of an attitude and can rub people up the wrong way - Pet .
Is pet just a term, like people in different areas call people names without any hard intended.
A girl at work gets called Shugs by a certain individual.. I did a research and there's a lot of meanings. Some derogatory.
Old folk in Staffordshire say 'duck' a lot.. When I worked for Britannia BS, in the contact centre, every customer used 'duck' in almost every sentence.
Every sentence, literally 'thanks duck'.. 'ok duck'..
same thing duck / luv /etc all just local terms of endearment .
some places up north go for " flower "
it isnt anything to be at all " woke " about but of course some twat will always object !

When you’ve worked in a contact centre that caters the whole nation, you speak to everyone form every region.

Lol the daily mail love idiots believing that someone could be taken to court for calling someone ‘pet’. And the same idiots love believing it. They would also have believed that there were places banning Christmas and the like.
Yeah, when somebody says " I'll have one of those as well cock" in the shop I work in it always takes you by surprise a bit !
On the subject of working from home, I have doubted for some time whether the Daily Mail fly Jeff Powell out to Las Vegas for the big fights. Bet he watches em on telly then types a column up in his spare room...

Is it normal for it to take 8 months to be charged, I mean for what seems a simple and relatively minor offence?

You read the mail, you get what you deserve.

A tiny telly really far away to recreate his live experiences.

TBF, I doubt you're his type. I get the impression he hasn't left the '80s.
The Littlejohn column didn't mention abusive and threatening behaviour.
Looks like his litlle sidebar column on this subject was aimed at causing outrage that someone was in court for calling someone "pet", when in actual fact, there is a lot more to it, which wasn't mentioned by RJ
